Nowhere near good enough (5 Viewers)

Robins needs to be answering some tough questions.

We have no game plan, no urgency and like always his subs and in game decisions are dog shit.

He has been shown up tactically by Bristol City and Rotherham in the space of a few days.

He has no excuses, he has spent millions.

Passing was poor second half and our corners are absolutely ineffective. I can't remember the last time we fired in a corner and one of our players got their head to it.
Rotherham made us look poor. They had more passion and desire than we did.

We (Robins) got lucky last season with being able to launch it to a freak of a player in Gyokeres and feed off the scraps if he didn’t score.

Feel free to add that to a spreadsheet or whatever bollocks goes on on here now.

It’s a lesson which had been learned elsewhere: throwing money at new players doesn’t work. Too many players signed, too quickly.

Yep. I’m sorry, but it’s actually unbearable having to watch that shite.

We’ve had our pants taken down spending 15 odd million on Simms and Wright.

Don’t get me started on Eccles, Utter fucking shite. Get back to league one.

Missing the West Brom game as I’m away, first time I’ve ever been glad not having to go up and watch this dross.

The summer window was always going to be hard, but we don’t seem to have signed players with a cohesive plan in mind. The new recruitment team seems out of their depth, and they’ve left the team devoid of characters - I get the impression that Simms and Wright aren’t exactly flipping over tables in anger at the team’s current form, and someone needs to ensure standards are upheld.

The system that Robins is persisting with NEEDS a midfielder who can seize control of the game, as Walsh did in L1 and Gus did in the Championship - we don’t have a single player like that in our current squad, even after spending £20 million. Bizarre.

The lack of effort from those two up top was scary. Shown up by O'Hare who actually gave a bit of fight.

Yeah but the lesson learned so far is not to spend any more money

I hate to say it but 31 corners and not 1 goal is just not good enough. Simms and Wright together are nowhere near 1 Victor G . What a waste of money .
Not sure they take the corners to be honest.

Dasilva, Godden and Binks need dropping. Bring Bidwell back in. Give Kitching a run. Need more fighters in the squad atm.

Looks like we will be rushing O’hare back which unfortunately is needed atm but we have to get a couple midfielders in come January.

Is Robins a classic situation of a manager that shouldn’t have money to spend?

Robins has been a fantastic servant for the club through the tough times, but he’s got a new challenge now when you spend big money the results have to come. It’s as simple as that. Wake up call for everyone.

Really good point. Plenty of managers out there struggle when given funds. Moyes being an example now. John Bond decades ago

Pretty much!

Now other managers are showing him up.

As I said in the match thread, I've tried to keep positive but that really knocked any positivity out of me.

Something's going to have to change, because we can't keep this up, we'll be pulled well into the relegation battle if we carry on like this.

I hope there are some honest discussions going on behind closed doors between players and manager, because there needs to be.

I think what’s most upsetting is that the money we got for Hamer and Gyokeres could have set us up as a club for a generation if used wisely.

Instead, well, yikes.
exactly. @skybluecam take note and learn why it's ok to sit on money.
