Would D K wield the axe? (7 Viewers)

Talk of sacking Robins, Robins walking etc is nonsense …..

…. Thank god fans don’t get close to running the club.
Well Wenger had plenty of credit to his name, but towards the end he knew his time was up.

I still find it difficult to believe people seriously want Robins out, the man has been with us for 6 years now and somehow against ‘all the odds’ he’s managed to improve the club’s position and profile ‘year on year’ we probably overachieved last season with 2 players instrumental in the play-off push.
He’s lost both of those players now and others, he’s been forced into the transfer market knowing full well he’s signing players inferior to those he’s lost, I still have every confidence that in time he will get back from the team the same effort and commitment he’s always put in.
Doug would be a complete mug to throw away the single biggest asset this club has.
Keep the Faith ✊🩵

If we were to sack Robins - I’d go and get Evatt at Bolton
Can someone remind me if SBT was having a competition for the most wackiest post of the year?

If so, I’m going to vote on this one.

I’ve written some flim flam in the past on SBT but this one’s going to get pinned on the office wall for the first team meeting to enjoy.

Good job we’re not in charge of appointing football managers on here! 😆

I would suggest DK is ruthless. He was not happy after the game on Wednesday that is for sure. I predict a change at Xmas if we do not improve. Currently the issue is with certain new players who are under performing
Is it the players or the management style ??

The post is asking if King would wield the axe? I’m just suggesting an alternative - Evatt has done a great job at Bolton. Football is good aswell

Out of interest how do you know DK wasn’t happy?

I’d imagine that the players that have been here a while are brassed off with some of the new players though.

We're not going to be in a relegation fight and Robins is going nowhere, silly thread.

Every season he has improved us, one step back and for anyone to be giving the WUM OP the time of day, shows how ridiculous this place can get.

totally agree. We haven’t lost back to back games before this week for over a year.
A couple of bad results and fans turn. It’s ridiculous. We’ve lost 4 all season. Give it till Christmas at least.

none of us were happy after Rotherham. Fans or management. Saying DK wasn’t happy isn’t really telling.
Even robins said it wasn’t good enough and no excuses.

Starting to think he keeps saying ‘they’re really good players’ because his mate recommended them

Another couple of defeats and i have a feeling something will happen. Either the recruitment team take the hit, any further spending is placed on hold in January or DK & Robins have a fall out. Something's certainly not right at the club be in spirit, togetherness that fight to the end of a game like the last four seasons has gone. I think the old guard around the club privately would say they are disappointed with the quality recruited so far. The best players brought in could be argued are frees & the Binks loan.

We are almost into November and the new signings have been disappointing to say the least. The 'gelling' excuse wont wash for much longer and internally i feel there will be some repercussions somewhere. DK as an operator we don't know how he works, but he doesn't appear to be a soft touch and if things don't improve soon who knows.

I think the recruitment team will be gone in the next few weeks personally prior to the January transfer window. Robins has to much credit to even be considered removing from his post.

How do you know that, Robins signs the players he admitted that the other night and has probably watched them a number of times on video, maybe live.
Scouts don’t sign players or decide any fee.

We have appointed a non league scout as the head of recruitment because he’s Robins’ mate. Quelle surprise that he recommended an £8m donkey

We signed eleven two of which are loans one a goalkeeper so which ones have been a disappointment quality wise.

I think Simms & Wright as the big money signing have been terrible.

Thomas, Yakamoto & Van Ewick(?) average at best (so far)

Kitching- If he was showing his value in training etc he would be starting more games so suggests to me he needs some more coaching on the training ground. We paid £4.5m for him.. he should be starting at that type of outlay?

I'm not saying i'm defiantly right here just my opinion at this moment and an argument can be made for each of them but when we were recruiting before nearly all of the signings hit the ground running.

But crucially not much under our new novice owner who’s shown he’s not afraid to go against the grain

And he will get some serious applications for the job with a choice of potentially good replacements

From Doug's limited football knowledge, I'm certain he knows how successful Robins has been. If it is a journey that they keep saying, they'll not get rid.

Doug is probably looking at the mess Birmingham seem to have sleepwalked into hiring Rooney.

The earliest he'd be sacked is after a relegation. Not in January because we are 19th.

That is the crucial thing. With all due respect what does Doug know about picking a manager (or anyone else at the club for that matter).
It's a very rapid way to blow a lot of money in a short space of time (which we have already done once) because inevitably a new man/woman will want to (rightly) bring in their own players.
(Not that I think it would be a good idea).
Agree with that. New chairmen especially know no more than more enlightened knoweldgable fans about choosing a manager, although they may have better access to specialist advice within the industry.
MR needs to be given 2 seasons to work with this squad and show signs of improvements. Panic sackings are never good as last season confirms and look at Middlesborough!

Wasn’t Wilder sacked after losing to us?

13 games and calling someone a donkey is not something I expect from you. Wright hasn’t performed but we aren’t playing to his strengths. His goals record in other leagues is decent and he’s played at the most recent World Cup, that tells me he’s good enough . Trouble is no one has any patience these days and expect an instant impact

Agree that was probably unwarranted. Just frustrated.

So he has a job for life, regardless of performance?
He has a long-term contract as well. If I were Doug I’d be wanting a bit of value out of this commitment. Robins may well need a bit of support rather than being cast aside. In terms of investment, both DK and Robins continue to remind us that we are a project. It seems very early to talk about changing the manager.

Fans will have a chance to back the club again on Season Ticket renewal. If they aren’t happy with what is happening at the moment, then maybe they misunderstood what this season is about? I must admit, I’m not exactly punching air. At the moment it’s a lottery as to where the next points come from.

I expect it from some of the other neanderthals on here haha. I am also frustrated, the performance in the last one and a half games was dire, no question. But there have been times we have looked a good team but not took our chances. I still think Simms and Wright come good but I would rather we try the box again for a bit once O’Hare is back up to speed and Allen is is fit again

Apart from the first sentence I share your views on Wright. Give him some credit. Not many of us on here have played at a professional level here have we?

He’s clearly got ability, just isn’t clicking for him at the moment. That’s partly due to the lack of service too. I think Robins alluded that he found the transition to life in Coventry quite difficult, of course that’s going to effect his performances too
