Everything wrong with this shape at the moment. Our midfield is too fluid with Ayari, O'Hare and Allen in there. They all want to be in the same space between midfield and defence, and the shape is very flat because of it. Eccles and Sheaf don't have much time on the ball and they just don't automatically know where their team mates are going to be. Passes are then delayed and players are marked.

We didn't play 4231, we played 433, with a flat 3 in midfield, Allen as a number 8 and Eccles/Sheaf alternating as a 4/8.

Wright stayed high and wide, and did Saka with a bit of floating around.
