Reckon he gave them the Pip.Haha the away fans throwing shit at him while he blows them a kiss
Yeah he’s had some unwarranted stick on here but good support in the stadium.Agree that he is starting to look like the player we all hoped. I think he is still getting there but its now looking promising at least.
I also think the attitude of our match going fans towards him has been wonderful all things considered. In the grounds he has never had anything but support.
There are plenty of fanbases (including us in the past) who wouldn't have given that support to a player that wasn't meeting expectations. Remember the abuse Kevin Kyle used to get?
How much can we sell him for? I'd take 2 million tomorrow
He's now appreciating fully what's expected of him and appears to me to be more settled and integrated into the team. Still room for improvement but I expect opposing defences don't look forward to playing against him. Think he very much benefits from the return of The Solihull Messi. Hope he continues his upward curve and Simms can gain some confidence from playing alongside him .
It's obvious going to Fernabace not?
I think that the formation change has a lot to do with it.Wonder how much of that is down to the formation change ? From my perspective, we've moved to a 4-2-1-3 or even 4-2-3-1. Simms up front as a dedicated forward and Wrighty seems to be playing more on the left wing with Tats on the right. CoH in behind the three of them. May work better for Haji as he doesn't have a physical CB on his shoulder pummelling him as soon as he gets the ball, which allows HW the ability to turn and run at the defence at pace.
To be fair Kevin Kyle was a dreadful player.Agree that he is starting to look like the player we all hoped. I think he is still getting there but its now looking promising at least.

He is certainly in my all time worst Sky Blue 11.Agree. And his attitude stunk.
But the fans didn’t help
I dunno slumping down to League two opened us up to a whole new load of shitHe is certainly in my all time worst Sky Blue 11.

Proschwitz, Mathieu Mansett and Simeon Jackson come to mind
Jesus Christ I'd managed to forget about those times. Imagine if Robins decided he'd leave and not manage us in League 2.. god knows where we'd be.I dunno slumping down to League two opened us up to a whole new load of shit

Could have threw in Roy O’Donovan, Tudgay and Stewart Beavon…. I’d have had Kyle over all of these names all day of the weekJesus Christ I'd managed to forget about those times. Imagine if Robins decided he'd leave and not manage us in League 2.. god knows where we'd be.

Robinson in charge by that point. Pay first, ask how to afford it later seemed to be his motto!I am amazed Kyle was on £8 grand a week here - Operation Premiership and all that
When we signed Proschwitz I thought we'd doubled the scouting department. A hat AND a scrabble board. Now there's a throwback to a time where it felt like our scouting setup consisted of someone pulling names out of a hat. Christ, I'm glad we're more organised these days.
I remember listening to an interview with Robinson on Radio 5 where he described the majority of the Cov debt as being " soft debt" in his words " money not owed now but sometime in the future but at Coventry we have that under control". LolRobinson in charge by that point. Pay first, ask how to afford it later seemed to be his motto!
These sorts of stats are Reassuring …and in theory will improve. So far Haji Wright is averaging 0.43 goals for every 90 minutes he has spent on the pitch, which is a perfectly respectable return.
To put it into context it's better than Connor Chaplin and Joël Piroe.
One of the worst and a miserable git to bootTo be fair Kevin Kyle was a dreadful player.
If memory serves, like Leon McKenzie who was signed at a similar time he also had some personal problems going on which were later well publicised.Kyle did have a track record of scoring in this division, the fact we were against him from the start wouldn't help. We did have a bloke who was never going to be particularly good technically, but could have been a menace in trying to beat up the opposition.
I remember a freezing cold winter game against Crystal Palace, two blonde lasses spent the entire game hurling abuse at Kyle, begging him to be sent off(!) and generally being more of a handicap than anyting else.
Whatever talent he didn't have, we certainly made sure he didn't have the confidence to do what he could do.
He was injured after that, plus Sunderland ended up promotedTo be fair, Kyle had only scored 12 league goals in over 100 appearances before joining us, he had one ok season (2003/04), three seasons before joining us in 2006/07 season , where he scored 10 league goals in the regular season plus 2 in the play off from 46 games.
He was a poor signing. I'm not sure you can look that far back to say he had a good track record.

He was, but he did only have one ok season in that league. He wasn't a proven goalscorer, and wasn't what we needed. McKenzie had scored goals at a few clubs and different levels. His issue is we signed him then played him on the wing, a bit like Eastwood. He was injured after that, plus Sunderland ended up promoted
