"We are pleased to confirm that Andy Thorn has appointed Full Contact to advise and assist him as he seeks a new managerial role.
Following the conclusion of his successful playing career, Andy worked for four years at Everton under David Moyes, and then two years at Fulham with both Chris Coleman and Roy Hodgson. He then joined Coventry City as chief scout before becoming caretaker-manager in the 2010/2011 season alongside Steve Harrison after Aidy Boothroyds’ departure. Coventry enjoyed a successful close to the season under his leadership, despite operating under an extremely small budget for Championship standards, losing only one game. Andy’s first game as the official manager of the club was the final home game of the 2010–2011 season against Reading.
Whilst the 2011–2012 season saw Coventry relegated to League One, shrewd observers of the game are well aware that this relegation must be considered in the context of Coventry’s dire financial circumstances, boardroom conflict and Andy’s inability to buy new players. The fact that Andy became Coventry’s tenth managerial casualty in eleven years also bears out what a difficult task it was.
Perhaps the legacy of Andy’s tenure at Coventry will be that he successfully acquired numerous players on free transfers, all of whom soon became considerable assets to the club (most of whom were sold on promptly), such as Jordan Henderson, Jack Cork, Danny Fox, Scott Dann, Keiron Westwood, Richard Keogh, Anar Gunnarsson and Lucas Jutkewitcz. It would be no exaggeration to say that but for the discovery and then sale of some of these players, Coventry may well not have survived."

Must be a wind up, how can he take credit for fox and dann?

That anar is a good player too!

Very poor advert, full of spelling mistakes, and mistakes such as Henderson and Cork never being sold on as they were only on loan.

If thats the company representing him, then he will struggle to get another job, even more so than he would've before

They were all "free" signings too apparently, and all sold on for a profit, including players that we only had on loan like Cork and Henderson!

Senior Partner of Full Contact Dan Chapman commented, “Andy is regarded by the players he worked with as an excellent man manager, with a huge passion and commitment for the game. I believe that in time it will become apparent that he performed small miracles at Coventry, and once the right opportunity comes about, I am very sure that Andy will prove that he has all the skills to be a successful manager. There is already no doubt that he is a top class coach and talent scout, as his record at Everton, Fulham and then Coventry prior to being appointed as manager bears out. I am delighted that Andy has asked Full Contact to assist him in his future endeavours and we hope to build a successful, long term relationship with him.”
Andy Thorn commented “I have been very impressed with Dan and his team at Full Contact and I had no hesitation in asking them to represent me as I await the opportunities to return to management.”

I have to say I found the article quite funny tbh

What miracle did he do? That will get laughed at by clubs when they do research?

Good Managers don't need the likes of this sort of organisation to find them work. The fact that AT has signed up with them tells its own story!

This is hilarious, it sounds as though it has been written by dongonzalos.

How can he claim to have signed those players himself, and on free transfers?! He wasn't even here when some of them were signed. I am sure that it will raise a few chuckles in footballing circles.

He probably came on here and started to believe some of the utter shite that was written about him.

Think he was forced into saying all this when the aliens abducted him.

They obviously kicked him out when he raided their tuck shop.

You forgot to mention the sensational 45 minutes against Bury which was total football the like of which the world has never seen before.

And the transformation of the same 11 players once the cloud of Boothroyd was lifted.

....to achieve the same points and win ratio that Boothroyd had during his tenure at the club.

Care to comment on anything else about Ccfc, Duffy ?
Or are you still fixed on the same old broken record.

Ironic as on a pevious post you seem at liberty to criticise a far more succesful manager in Boothroyd and anyway the thread is about your best buddy in case you didn't notice.

Broken record -- could be a title for your friends Biogrophy (not Autobiogrophy I'm sure).

total accident, think googled Coleman and Henderson to see if anything there that would suggest that we were in any way likely to buy him from Sunderland apart from Ranson, and that came up a few pages in.

Too good an opportunity to miss really.

No, I comment on here about a variety of things, while you only post about Thorn.
Even now he has left, you still can not move on.
It's an obsession that you must learn to control.

I notice that they didn't mention that he also consistently turned up for training pissed, and had a tendency to make substitutions in the 85th minute.

I wonder why?

Also if he was so good as a scout, why has no one offered him a similar role? Could it be that the players he "brought in" were co-incidentally under Ranson! Look at the players brought in after Ranson left - the evidence is overwhelming who was the REAL sourve for these players!

Could it be a wind up? It just seems way too cringeworthy to be real!

I would normally agree but First Contact look a bona fide agency so I assume it is true.

Could be a wind-up, if it was genuine would expect to see something like:

"The first 45 minutes against Bury has been generally accepted in the footballing world as one of the finest displays of total football ever seen, comparable to the great Ajax team of the Seventies.

The comparisons don't end there, players such as Elliott, Barton and Malaga unearthed by Thorn have been lauded as the new Cruyff, Neeskens and Van Der Kerkhoff, and have been setting League One on fire.

Not for no reason is Thorn known as the Rinus Michels of England"

Because it didn't have that, it loses a bit of credibility for me.
