That’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard! Most people don’t even have printers nowadays. Feel sorry for you lot

Thing is you don’t have to print them. The gap in the scanner is big enough for a smartphone.

today I think the idea with the snakey queue thing was to not block up the path/road so fans can walk past. Once you got to a turnstile it was seconds in.
Unfortunately you need people to comply with a system for it to work, not just shout at the stewards and try and push through.

What a fiasco at trying to enter the ground today . A “ new system “ ……. Well whoever devised that shite wants sacking .
New stewards that also aid to the confusion & ‘ open turnstiles’ not being used ….. excellent CBS !

Get there earlier, no excuse today if you’re local.

Yep - got in the queue at 11:45 and had enough time to get a balti pie and into my seat as the teams were coming out. Not sure why it sounded like Apocalypse Now for some other people.

It is a bit easier when you are watching from your armchair

What a fiasco!!! got in the queue at 11.25 and didn't get in until 11.55!!!! turnstile 35 the snake was a fucking joke, cos at the end they just let everyone in without searching. It's almost as if they want to make it difficult to get in

Arrived at 11.40 and thought it was going to be horrendous seeing the length of queue at our usual entry point, but turned out to be very quick. In seats just after 11.50 and had time to get food and drink… Good natured banter in the queue with no issues of people abusing stewards or pushing in etc.

Wasn’t there today, the people saying it was a disaster how so? I’m struggling to think how you can fuck up a snake queue, especially compared to the usual mess of queues merging into each other

Wasn't a snake queue where I went in.

Stewards are so slow

Yeah, had a the snake queuing at my turnstile against Bristol city. Worked fine and makes sense. Must’ve been other issues today

Biggest issue I saw was that there were consistently 3/4 security personnel with nobody at them … similar with gates. Queues were not moving and had no real setup.

A complete lack of direction/organisation. This was turnstiles for block 28-32 area.

Got to the ground about half 11, and the "new style" queue didn't move for about 15 minutes.
Only started moving as people moved the barriers and forced the stewards to open the usual turnstiles and go back to the old system. Thought it was going to get ugly for a moment

Had similar thoughts. I’m a big guy and I was being pushed against the railings a lot.

Seemed there was just one young steward who was left to manage everyone behind the barrier and listen to all of the complaints.
The new system is ridiculous. Everyone would have missed kick off if they'd not taken it into their own hands

Me and the wife breezed through the turnstiles. Arrive in plenty of time is the key. Lots of people were already in the stadium before us, especially on concourse.. Outside lots of fans just stood around not attempting to enter?

I got in at 11.25. no real issues. Steward with loud hailer outside the east stand telling everyone to use any turnstiles and that the queues were easier at the north stand end so I did. No problem at all.

No problem in block 22. However, car park C is still a disaster. Any plans to help with that? Closing the road seems to help but I think all they really need to do is change the timings of the traffic lights to allow the car parks to empty quicker.

How does closing the road help car park C? Is it just that everyone has to turn right and take a significant detour whether they want to or not?

Got to the ground later than intended around 11:40 and my queue to North Stand Turnstiles (roughly 36-40) took just over 10 minutes to get in. My queue and search seemed quicker and Deputy Response Manager was visible and trying to help keep things moving.

Clearly others weren't as fortunate as I was.

Soggy printed tickets? Do the turnstiles not have somewhere to just scan the ticket off your phone?

The MCG holds over 100,000 people and never has any issue with people getting in and out the ground.

Feel sorry for you lot if it’s stuck in the old age still

You can scan your ticket off your phone did it against Wednesday as no printer

Witnessed it first hand today, hordes of people turning up at 11.30. At the turnstiles a set of 3 different barriers were all leading to one turnstyle😂

People had been waiting ages then they opened a door and just looked at peoples tickets and let them in.

The stewards could have walked up the line searching people but they stood there doing nothing. No searches.

Its a mixture of people turning up late and clueless stewards.

The train situation is just embarrassing for the city.

Isn't going to change anytime soon. VLR was meant to fix this, but that doesn't seem to move forward. Billions of investment in public transport across the rest of the region with Midlands metro, but Cov gets fuck all. Even when VLR does happen, the northern route to the CBS will be the last phase I think.

Queue for 45 was three times the length it’s been all season.

Felt like it cleared a lot quicker today TBH.

A lot quicker to be fair today, we go in the block by 39 and they were not scanning or searching everyone which sped it up, queue of circa 30 but in within 5 mins, 24,000 majority in home ends, not sure what else can be done bit maybe on night games or 3pm ones, offer incentives on beer/food an hour or so before kick off.

if they don’t scan/body search en mass then it will help massively, not sure the barriers helped today, maybe some queuing order but no speed up

It's 2024 and I am shocked they cant programme lights to help traffic flow at specific peak times. Car park C needs an extra 20 seconds per change and the roundabout lights towards the city centre where it always backs up needs the same 20 seconds longer hold. It would ease congestion and stop 100s of cars idling which is a small but quick win from an emissions perspective.

It was another shit show today. Most tried to follow the snake system, even adding extra lines when it was full. waited and waited only to see loads of people just move a barrier and jump the line. queue completely pointless. arrived at ground 11.25, just made it in before K.O. only because they decided to abandon any idea of secure processing.

Fuck it. It’s absolute fucking dorks making it take long.

“Why does the ticket I printed out not fit again exactly like last time?”

We’ve all stood behind plonkers at cashpoints and silly billies in supermarkets. Times that by loads and here we are.
