We played them last game of season at least twice, maybe even three times, early/mid 90's.

I wouldn't know about the one in 92.

93 or 94 I think we were 3-1 up in the last minute but they scored twice (possibly both by Rod Wallace), and yes I think Cov got chased off the pitch by the Leeds mob.

Last game of 95/96 season was 0-0 (I think) and kept us up, and City definitely had upper hand after the match on the pitch..... my most abiding memory of that game is a city bloke with a young kid on his shoulders, knocking down a couple of Leeds fans on the pitch.
Didn't Sheff Utd do the same last day of the season at HR, ran on the pitch towards the West End early 90s

I remember a man city fan getting punched over the advertising boards in the main stand at Highfield rd. Spurs fans got filled in between the main stand and west terrace after the cup game one was knocked spark out. I was involved at that portsmouth game, luckily got found not guilty.
Indecent Exposure?

My Pompey supporting old man was a steward in the away end up HR for this game.
The irony of having to more or less fend off his fellow Pompey fans was not lost on him.

😂😂

I felt sorry for a few of the Cov lads that were sent down for that, most of them were normal fans sitting in their seats defending themselves. Everybody got charged with violent disorder, most got a year.

Yeah, it was definitely Pompey on the attack. Standard.
Didnt know our fans would have got sentences.

Yes, there were about 20 of us charged for violent disorder, we were done in groups of three. Prosecutions case was that any normal person would’ve ran away, there was a guy in his 50s who threw a punch at an attacking Portsmouth fan while he was standing in the seat he bought he got a year.

Just spoke to a mate who knows a few Leeds lads and apparently they are coming in big numbers despite their moderate allocation.

Not sure why they would do that really, yes it’s an important game but by no means their biggest of the season.
this is partly true. the club are worried about trouble. especially in corporate area where they believe over 200 Leeds fans have tickets. extra security drafted in and all box holders been warned of trouble

plus many Leeds fans within the local area have got tickets. 4000 probably exaggerated but I see in the region of 500 plus Leeds in and around the home end

Leeds fans in corporate, sure the club have already issued a verbal .. same with other clubs though

Leeds fans in the home end ??

Nah , when you consider there were none in the Watford end in a half empty stadium and you also need previous purchase history

The attendance is about the same as against Cardiff in the home end , but the away end and corporate are sold out this time .. more cracking stories 👏 👌

That’s ridiculous.
I’ll have to check with the old man but I seem to remember him saying that their fans were trying to get at the police as well.

I went to hospitality for the Cardiff game…happy birthday to my partner…I overheard a staff member saying they’d sold 450 for the Leeds game. Which was stressed was a lot for hospitality.

you do know many could have set an account up before march and bought tickets. tickets been on sale all season for this game. Leeds have many fans in and around Coventry including nuneaton. if the numbers of 200 Leeds is accurate that could cause problems

Yes because fans of other clubs set up accounts on other teams websites ( when they think their allocation is 4500 ) and buy tickets for other games not to do with their own club pre imagining they will be buying tickets in the home end at this stadium and NO OTHER stadium in the league

This is like at school when someone would start a rumour that rough kids from the nearest other school were coming down to cause trouble

Again you have missed the main point. Leeds have coaches running from the midlands for all Leeds home games. soon as the fixture came out, many would have opened accounts as a backup especially as Leeds have one of the best followings in the country. the fact they know 200 have tickets in corporate says it all

Does it fuck, it shows at most people have had to buy more expensive packages as they can't buy other tickets in the ground.

I helped a Leeds fan change a flat tire in the rain the other day as a good deed, he asked me if I would accept any payment for my troubles, but I declined. As he drove off he looked me square in the eye and whispered “Whatever you do, stay away from the CBS on April ‘t 6th, by ‘eck”
