Some people got annoyed when I said I'd like him back the other day, which was odd. Think it could be a real battle between him and Kitching next season.

He’s the perfect model player, still raw but materials are there. It’s the Utd cameo we want to see more of, not some of the more passive efforts. And of course a LCB is key.

now would love an experience RCB - McNair or similar

Might suggest we are not bringing in the experienced pro we expected

thomas
Lati
Binks
Kitching

can we really have a5th centre half when we play 2 ?

only 2 would even make the bench ….

Great news if true. Ticks a lot of boxes, with being left footed, has a good range of passing, good height, strong with plenty of improvement potential.

I agree but it might suggest left back is the only way we plan to upgrade our leaky defence and I’m not sure Bidwell defending was the problem….

Clearly upgrading Collins would also help ….

Signing Binks has no downside, in fact i think he could become a very good CB that could go higher. He seemed to enjoy it at the club and would be an ideal signing.

Good competition for Kitching and for me if he signs he will have the starting jersey to lose. I haven't given up on Kitching but still have the same concerns about him before he signed. He needs to gets those things ironed out and he will reach his potential. I just think Binks has more scope to go higher out the 2, but i like this signing..

This plus Stamenic surely means Sheaf is on his way, if true.
Reckon Doug is paying forward for a bit until we know what we're getting from Vik, Gus and a few cheaper squad members we're likely looking to move on.

start of a interesting summer

I still haven’t got over when you told us hamer had signed a new deal. I hold caution.

I would like this to be true also. A really good player in there and will be better for it this season. No nonsense improving defender.

Extra TV money, cash flow positives from cup run, ST sales, wages saved from departing players, Grendel's loan - not sure Sheaf has to go based on that.
While I’m intrigued to learn more about the forum loaning Grendel out for financial gain, if we were to pay Bologna a few million, plus the millions on Stamenic, that seems to outweigh what you’ve just listed.

GK needs a definite upgrade and I think we’ll do that.

The big thing we would have here is consistency and a full last season & pre season as a defence. Plus the fact they are all relatively young , we could see the likes of Kitching, Binks and Lati actually improve their game significantly.

Is Grendel's loan with a view to a permanent transfer? And can we have a 10% sell on clause?

Or alternatively that one of the above is leaving? I like Lati but if there was any serious interest from Portugal it would be hard to stand in the way of that.

As Binks is in LA on holiday at the moment can’t see that happening anytime soon unless was all sorted at the end of the season. But Robins didn’t intimate that he actually said they would monitor it. Think he could be a superb player better than Thomas and Kitching but think costs would be too high.
