Presumably I'm the only one on here who has zero interest in England and international football in general?
No me neither.
Funny we were asked by a Utd fan, City to win FA Cup or England win Euros most said City FA Cup.
He took it quite hard until I mentioned how he never goes to any matches where as we are ST holders.
I support City and no one else, so you could say I'm not a football fan, if City were to die I wouldn't bother watching football anymore.

England do this in most tournaments, get a goal and hang on and when they play quality teams they lose. So slow and France and co won't be losing any sleep over them. I've seen more pace from people on mobility scooters.

not sure that’s on Southgate - a team with Saka, Bellingham, Foden, Kane, TAA….. that’s not set up to defend

the players stopped playing football and started panicking, rather than taking responsibility they just wanted to get rid (mostly), which is frustrating because at club level they wouldn’t do that

should have brought Palmer on instead of Gallagher, still a win is a win and players will still be fresh for Denmark
game (0-0 i think)

Cov over England any day but still get drawn into the big tournaments and hope for the best. England normally get cheated at some point so all fucking familiar 🤔☹️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

we have so much flair in the England team and the players just cant adapt to Southgate's slow dull style of play. Its truly awful to watch, i just dont understand why we dont play to the strengths of the team rather than this utter dross.
It’s a dull watch. There must be some way of playing the game without losing the audience!

Was very surprised to see Bellingham not getting hooked for daring to sprint forward into the box for his goal.

Mirrors my relationship with football. I have no love for the game outside of my Coventry obsession other than a passing interest with England. I've never even heard of the centre half who partnered Stones last night. I'd simply stop watching football if Coventry ceased to exist.

Eh? Why would you bring Palmer on to play CM.

Gallagher fits in to retain the shape. When Serbia are coming forward you need more protection in front of the back 4 than just Rice

true, but how do you do that when, for example, you’ve got Bellingham and Foden both outstanding 10s, an abundance of wide(r) players like Grealish, Saka, Bowen, Gordon, even Palmer and Eze to a degree - how do you fit them in but still stay solid in midfield and at the back?

last night he tried something different with TAA as a more attacking CDM, but who could also drop in at RB if Walker was pulled in to cover Guehi in central defence - with one eye on defending that was a pretty attack minded decision, and for 30 minutes it worked but then it looked like the fear of losing got to the players a bit and they forgot how to play exciting attacking football the way they were at the start.

They can do it under Southgate because they showed that in the first half, and hopefully with first game nerves out the way they will open up more as the tournament goes on, but even the pundits have come up short when trying to figure out the best formation to fit in all the talent - I’m not sure there is an actual solution…

Or maybe around this time of the first substitution?
Found myself getting a bit annoyed at Bellingham, who was well protected by the ref getting a bit petulant and not averse to the dark arts himself!!

What’s wrong with the dark arts? It’s about time we did it 2bh. Everyone else does

I would never choose England over city but this is my first proper tournament out with everyone and it’s actually incredible.

On the piss with fans of all countries having a laugh.

International tournaments are incredible.

How are you finding the bars and restuarants? Easy enough to get served? Easy to find space for something to eat etc?

Had a great time at Euro 2000,2004, 2016. Plus World Cup 2006.
