he has a point, ACL would be in trouble if SISU default nevermind the impact it will have on local businesses. Depressing but could be close to the truth, potentially scary times for the club.:(:(

So basically he thinks if theres no compromise every one looses??? Surely then common sense will prevail !?!?!!?!

What was said?

In short he basicaly said what we know... the 650k rent offer was rejected and sisu want to pay around 170k which is the average for most league one teams,
he can see us going in to administraion, playing at northampton/birmingham ground, then acl going into administration because of the big bill we owe them...
he also mentioned that we have a good playing budget and if we did go in to administration, they always make sure they pay the players first, so they would be paid and i can see acl being very much out of pocket if they dont come to an agreement

surely there would be some civil action against SISU that they would be ordered to pay this money rather than get to this situation. It still wouldn't sort out the ongoing arrangement so would probably delay the inevitable.

The major issue is that SISU want to pay about £125k pa and that wont even come close to paying the mortgage! we have a huge noose round our necks which no-one can sort unless a benefactor can buy the ground outright.

We go into admin, we could get relegated... or we could go bust!

How fucking depressing, pass me the whiskey!

CCFC will go into admin

that will then take ACL into admin

Coventry the city will be ruined

SO basically Stop being Billy Big bollocks and get a sensible solution down! The Council need to see this before they loose control of everything including the Stadium or maybe they have already lost control?

Maybe what the Club should do, which would stop a winding up order is pay a rent they feel fit!

They would have then made a payment before Boxing day and would be at the table saying why they are willing to pay that amount, and also how the back pay comes into it.
But i don't know if its that straight forward!

The Council sitting this one out has been a massive problem!

The problem is, by the time Richardson had gone, Highfield Road was sold and planning permission had been granted to build on it! We were a club with no money (some how) and no home!

that's what has never made sense to me, how did we go from owning our own ground to selling it off and not having a penny. did it all go into a brown envelope somewhere along the line or was it just total mismanagement?

SISUs plan has always been to take ACL out of business and be the shining light ready to step in and take control of the Arena.

Clinical stuff hey...

So the future is unknown, the only constant is the supporters, its time to stop the fighting and snide remarks between us and stand together for the sake of our club, CCFC NEEDS US !!! forget who runs it just stand together and show the world that we are as one, I for one want us to survive ,i dont know what we will be left with to support, but we must be there to ensure a future for our club !!!!!

ACL are never going into admin. The Ricoh generates millions of pounds every year, it generated over £50 million for local economy when it hosted the Olympics. It has taken Coventry to the top 5 business destinations in the UK from being out of the top 50 - it's hold a number of conferences, exhibitions and concerts daily!

The Ricoh doesn't need CCFC, just image the concerts and other events the stadium could hold. The only reason SISU bought the club was to get there hands on the Ricoh.

ACL have too many backers that won't allow them to go under - Coventry City Council, Higgs, Compass, Yorkshire Bank, DeVere and IEC experience.

ACL shouldn't back down or be bullied by fat cars.

It's tax payers money at stake here - some CCFC fans need to get a grip and release the true FACTS. Yes the club is a emotional product, but sometimes things can go to far or there comes a point that you have to stand your ground and say NO!

Something is going to put us out of our misery by the sounds of it. Don't think it'll be a rich bastard though!

well we were paying rent on Highfield rd for a while as the Ricoh was delayed which was just ludicrous! I think there was a lot of brown envelopes being distributed during this time but only one Mr Richardson walked away with a large suitcase of money!

Why should they reduce the rent - does your bank so it's ok to pay what you feel? Or the council say what u feel u want to pay for council tax??

People need to live in the real world and realise that you have to pay you way in this world.

End of the day it's a game - not life and death!!!

Lots of people say that, but never been that many concerts at The Ricoh really, and only goung to be having open-air concerts during the summer when the club aren't using it.

Don't see anywhere hosting open-air concerts in Autumn or Winter.

Correct - it is bonkers to suggest the ground would exist without a regular tenant.

They can only have them in June July - without CCFC it can host them from May till September. 1 concert makes more money than ALL the CCFC matches.
