Which teams do we think will be top 6 this season? (1 Viewer)

Was wondering which teams would be challenging this season.

Ignoring ourselves (i think we will be thereabouts) pick 6 teams you think will be up there.

I'm going for:

Norwich (if their key forwards stay fit, I think they may be this season's dark horse)
Sheff Utd - although if they lose Hamer it will hamper them, wouldn't be surprised to PL loans help them.
Leeds - although they may struggle due to player turnover and the need for new players to 'gel'!
Luton - kept most of their squad intact, so stability should help
Burnley - see Luton, although hopefully their new manager is useless!
Bristol City - my other choice for dark horses this season

I am also curious to see what happens with Hull this season, with their new manager. He plays a manic pressing game, which -- given he hasn't recruited players yet (due to massive turnover) - means the players won't have time to get used to his methods, and they may not work due to burnout, given the number of games played at this level.

Swap Bristol City with Middlesborough and I think you have top 7 there. Hopefully we are in it

Middlesbrough will be very strong this year, I expect them fighting in the top 6.
Perhaps - signed an American midfielder from MLS (could be anything) but not sure that Luke Ayling (ex-Leeds) is that inspiring. Apart from that they've done little in the market (so far).

Think Bristol City will finish mid-table. Middlesborough will be up there. Norwich always seem to have decent forwards but not be so clever at the back.

WBA could still be a force.
Norwich - strong squad
Burnley - their fans think they've already won the league
Sheff Utd - finishing joint 1st with Burnley
Luton - apart from Barkley, they haven't disassembled their team
Think Portsmouth or Derby could surprise us and challenge early (repeat of Ipswich)

There's probably 10 teams that could and should be in and around the playoff places.

We should be.

In theory, the relegated sides should be up there but as with all of us, one injury could change a clubs season.

Hard to say until the transfer window is closed tbh.

QPR might be a surprise package, given their end of season form.
It'll be interesting to see how good the new Sunderland manager is. Expectations at Hull are very high.

Leeds didn't get the job done last year and so far have lost key players in Kamara, Gray & Sinisterra with rumours about the rest of there front line leaving as well. They've only brought in Jayden Bogle to 'improve' the team and he definitely isn't as good as Gray.

I'm not naive, there's a lot of window left but for people to consider them for autos right now is laughable.

Can't believe people would overlook Luton. Lost Barkley and all there team have a year of experience at the highest level. Also the best manager in the division imo.

Luton , Leeds and WBA will all be strong .

Burnley , Norwich and Sheffield Utd potentially too depending on their transfer activity.

Wildcard could be someone like Oxford who seem to be recruiting well

Luton I think will win the league

Sinisterra wasn't even there last year he was out on loan

I think Burnley (1) will be our main rivals for top spot. ;)

Leeds (2) and Luton(3) will be there or there abouts and then it gets a bit tricky.

West Brom (4) are quietly going about business - they will probably be quite similar to last year noting that they lost some good loanees.

Sheffield United (5) for no good reason other than parachute payments.

Like you I have a sneaky suspicion about Norwich (6). They have been linked with some good players - not actually signed any of them yet mind and have a new manager so... I could be way out.

Have a Boro supporting mate, they have good vibes but part of that is down to a good run end of last season when play offs were out of reach. I see them as a 'just missing out team'. Another team I would be looking at is Sunderland. Not sure where to put them.

WBA
Norwich
Burnley
Luton
Leeds
Outside bet Cardiff. Seemed to have recruited quite well, haven’t lost too many and were on an upward trajectory last 1/3 of least season.

Luton, Leeds, WBA, Norwich, Burnley, Sheffield Utd, Middlesborough, and there’s always a surprise team…

Mid-table will be congested again with the likes of Watford, Cardiff, Stoke, Bristol City, Swansea and maybe a Plymouth or a Millwall…

This will be a tough season. I’d hope we have enough quality (with key additions in midfield and attack) to sustain a place in the top 6.

I’ll make a very early, yet calculated prediction that we’ll finish 6th.

Burnley, Leeds and Luton will battle it out for top 2.

Sheffield United, Middlesbrough, West Brom, us and Norwich will be main play-off chasers.

Expecting at least one of Sheffield Wednesday, QPR or Bristol City to be a bit of a surprise package.

Can never place teams like Swansea, Millwall, Preston, Watford and Cardiff.

Ignoring any significant future transfer activity, I'd say in no particular order

In firm contention: Luton, Burnley, Sheff Utd, Norwich, Boro, CCFC, Leeds, West Brom

Could be in contention: QPR, Bristol C, Cardiff, Hull, Sunderland

As it stands though, we really need more depth up front as a minimum, ideally one more at CB and CM.

Aidan Morris looks a very good signing although it is a bit of a lottery as he’s coming from the MLS so it’s a bit unknown.

It’s more the fact they still have Carrick in charge for a long time now and have been settled. I think he’s a very good manager and after their shit start last year they went up the table once they got going.

I'm waiting to see who Browne signs for, sounds like he's a world beater, and guarantees promotion.

Norwich are skint, Rowe won’t sign another contract and I can’t see Sara hanging around in the Championship. Expect a few sales at Carrow Road before the season starts

Cov Sheffied Utd play off final with us winning 2-1 and the whole of the city end singing “it could have been you” to Ohare
No chance Sheff Utd are making it unless the takeover goes through. They lost another 4 players over the weekend which is 15 in total already.

Don't say that on this forum, they've all got their dicks out for some reason over one of the most embarrassing teams of all time.

The bookies get more right than they get wrong which is how they make money. However, think our odds are really good meaning I think we will do better than they predict.
I have said before, think this is as difficult to get promoted as during any season. The "no hopers" from lat year QPR, Millwall, Watford and Stoke were all getting better as the season went on. They will give anyone a game. Bristol have recruited and were looking stronger last season.
Norwich, Hull and Sheff Utd could go either way but Sheff should have the money. Preston have lost their best player and always look shit but seem to prosper.
Can't see the promoted clubs doing an Ipswich.
Leeds, Boro (who like us were distracted by cup runs last season), Luton, Burnley, Sheff U and us for the top 6 with Bristol in contention possibly replacing one of those.
Must point out I predicted Leicester would not go up last year.

I'm going with the six teams that achieve the best points total generally speaking, subject to goal difference, goals scored and head to head results.

Aren't the bookies predictions really just the predictions of punters? Though I guess it's a bit chicken and egg as to when the starting odds are decided.
