We clearly have fans who have never played football at a half decent level, their comments come under the fu **ing embarrassing category.
Still let them light up the thread with their knowledgeable insightful comments, it’s entertaining
We clearly have fans who think they are better managers than Robins. If he is actually as bad as you, Grendel and other idiots on this forum make out then why is he playing week in and week out. To me it’s clear you don’t have a clue. It’s weird how you pick out one player when others on the pitch are making errors just as bad.

Couldn't watch the match and just saw the highlights. Happy with the win!. Glad to get Saturday's loss out of our system. Seems like we played a 442 formation which i think gives better balance in midfield while maintaining an attacking threat. Seems like Wilson played well from the highlights. Maybe he will fight Dovin for the No. 1 shirt. Thought he made a few good saves although it appears we were still guilty of giving the ball away cheaply at times and dropped back too deep. Still many things to improve upon, but glad we could get minutes into players and some rest as well. Onto to Friday and hope for a comfortable win.

Torp was far better tonight.

I don't think Eccles can play the deep role alone. Not good enough on the ball and doesn't have the range of passing. He's fine there with Sheaf alongside.

I agree with all of this - Torp was very good first half, tackled well, broke up play, good and effective / progressive passes, and looked one of our better players I thought

Eccles can’t play deep alone, but on the basis it’s the only choice we really have as Allen isn’t a DM I think he has to start

I think Dasilva should be considered for Friday. He was excellent tonight, as was Kitching. Wilson solid.
Midfield still an issue. Allen, Rudoni, Palmer and Torp are AMs for me. That leaves us only Eccles and Sheaf as DM/CMs.
We really need a CM through the door by the end of the window.

Agree completely. I can sort of see why Robins has played Allen as he offers himself for the ball off the centre backs and the goalkeeper far better than anyone else. Out of possession he isn't strong enough to play that role though.

Dasilva always looks ok when he doesn’t need to do a lot of defending. Bristol were shocking tonight. Bidwell is a better option all round. Although at least Dasilva looked tidy enough on the ball.

Bidwell is solid but he too gets caught out on occasions.

The one thing that DaSilva is far better at is his first touch. It's excellent and he's decent in tight spaces.

This is exactly it. I see a lot of people saying Torp is shit or he's been anonymous etc, but he's not a DM. He's at his best when he's further up the pitch but he's not getting in over Rudoni.

Alongside Sheaf I reckon he'll look a lot better because he'll be able to get up the pitch a bit more and not have to focus on covering the midfield so much.

He had to sit deeper against Stoke because he was next to Allen, who is also not a DM. Made both of them look absolute gash.

I think tonight showed that Rudoni can play deeper . He showed great awareness tonight and was making sure players around him were doing their roles

Only caught the commentary for the first half, watched the 2nd half and thought it was a decent performance.
Great ball from Palmer to Simms for the goal and a calm finish for a player who had just come on...loads of positives tbf and an improvement from Saturday.
Agree with the above comment that Rudoni can play deeper as well... really good signing is Rudoni.

Rudoni will be as valuable as Sheaf come the end of the season. He is a massive upgrade on O'Hare for me

Simms’ goal was exactly what you want from a potential 25+ goal a season striker.

Perfect set up, great off the ball movement to peel away from the marker, and a calm collected finish. Keep supplying him with those chances and he’ll score an absolute tonne this season.

On form who will he start/play?
Wright - Simms -Asante?
Robins will almost never START with these three. They’re the only three strikers in the squad (excluding Obikwu & Dausch and possibly Tavares).
Yes, Haji & BTA can and do play off the (left) wing. However if one of them tires and needs replacing, then you’re left with bringing on non-strikers. Saka & EMC are great options, but aren’t strikers.
I know what I mean. I’m just tired now & making little sense!

Lol , I know what you mean but on current form where do we go ?
I keep hearing Thomas-Asante can't start against Oxford but he was still chasing everything down even in injury time

Pretty bang average game and glad Robins called that out. Our midfield without Sheaf looks weak. It’s without a doubt our top priority to get a CM through the door this window.

Too conservative in possession, we’ve got bags of pace which we’re often not using.

Just got in from the game and hoping we get a London/surrounding area for the next round!

First half was frustrating. Asante too isolated, Lati is not a RB . Torp and Eccles played well at times Wright as well
Second half played a lot quicker , kudos to Robins for going for it . Lati can play CB , Kitching stood up well.Subs made the difference
Norton-Cuffy would be a good addition if we can get him again.

Enjoyed that - First half was dull as dishwater but thought we were better second half and only one side was ever going to win it as soon as we made the five subs

I fully expect the 'Hope we get beat' brigade to forego their right to a ticket should we get a decent draw next round

much better all round, and so much more to come, quietly confident we will do well this season.
I imagine that when we click it's going to be a lovely watch 🩵 PUSB
