2024/25 League 1 Champs?

Great finish, but why wasnā€™t Eccles pressing the ball and out to the man a lot quickerā€¦.

what will stop us from getting into the top two, and might even scupper another playoff shot is our lack of consistency, our seeming inability to change anything when it clearly needs it, and ultimately our lack of quality in midfield, which we STILL havenā€™t addressed for over a season now

itā€™s like the definition of stupidity, doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result

hopefully itā€™ll be a different second half šŸ¤žšŸ¼

I think Rudoni has somehow beaten his fellow central midfielders to worst player of the half, his sole contribution is to give away a needless free kick which led to their goal. Need much better from him.
Yeah, I don't get it. I keep reading on here, Torp and Eccles, Eccles and Torp, but Rudoni has been utterly dreadful too .

Robins all over Iā€™m afraid he is not proactive, needed changing before the goal the midfield is not working, torp and Rudoni and Eccles have been none existent, no closing down and Bristol deserve to be in front, Robins need to make changes at halftime.

Very timid today. Entire midfield below par in the first 45. Hopefully tweaks at HT will sort.

But even 2.5 league games into the season, a number of people on here had already called how the weird defensive corner setup was going to cost us. Assume it's a statistically sound approach, but I'm not sure we have enough nous for it yet.

Haji has the beating of his man every time, just a shame we canā€™t even keep hold of the ball to build anything.

Weā€™re too naive, expecting teams to just let us slowly build and take ages, then surprised when we give it away. 2nd half canā€™t be any worse, surely?

So much for going away and trying to defend the whole 90 minutes when youā€™ve invested heavily in your attacking options. Negative Southgate type tactics getting what they deserve really.

Maybe we need to bring Rudoni deeper in midfield and take off Eccles or Torp and have Palmer play in the CAM role. Just anything to get a foothold.

He is as literally lying in-between Dovin's legs meaning Dovin could move.
Not sure how it wasn't. His head was touching the line and he was between the keepers feet.

Unfortunately the offside rule doesnā€™t account for that. Itā€™s a little niche but it specifically:

ā€¢ ā€œinterfering with playā€ means playing or touching the ball passed or
touched by a team-mate - he doesnā€™t touch the ball
ā€¢ ā€œinterfering with an opponentā€ means preventing an opponent from
playing or being able to play the ball by clearly obstructing the opponentā€™s
line of vision or challenging an opponent for the ball - he doesnā€™t challange Dovin or obstruct his vision

Eccles hasn't started this season yet.
Torp still thinks he gets 10 seconds on the ball on the edge of his own area
Rudoni unfortunately has this performance in him, we've played against him a few times where you never even notice him.

But, it's taken a 1 out of 100 25 yard volley into the top corner to get them in front.

Big half coming. Agree in general though, could have Haaland up top, if you don't supply them it don't really matter

Still don't get how it wasn't offside

People on here abusing players. He could stand in West Super Mare and he'd be onside.

Don't be surprised, 8 fouls against 2 today. I wouldn't ask which was it went because everyonne in the ground knows it.

If we could have gone in at half time at 0-0 Iā€™d have felt slightly different about that. We limited their chances quite well but always seem to concede.

Away from home we always look completely different and we look scared to try and pass it along the floor under pressure when going forward.

Latibeaudiere, other than getting outmuscled by an absolute unit in Armstrong, has had a decent half.

Wright has tried to make something happen from nothing and has done okay.

No one else has been great, with Eccles and Torp being particularly untidy and Rudoni and Simms being anonymous.
Simms has had no service

I'd switch to a 4-4-2, but Simms and Wright up top, Eccles and Rudoni in the middle, EMC and either Sakamoto or bring on BTA.

Very concerning first half performance again. 3 games out of 4 weā€™ve started poorly and completely off the pace. Lack of press, lack of composure on the ball and lack of movement. They need to work harder. Can argue about a couple of fouls in the build up to their goal but weā€™ve got exactly what we deserved and should have been losing prior to that.

Lati, Torp, Eccles, Tats, Rudoni all poor. Bidders on a booking. Gonna have to really step it up second half.

Palmer would do a better job than Rudoni

I think we need Allen on for Torp or Eccles and Palmer for Rudoni.

For all his faults Palmer is capable of producing a moment of brilliance to create a goal. At the moment I donā€™t see how itā€™s coming otherwise. Simms has hardly had a touch.

Seriously why is no one on edge of the box from the corner? What the fuck did we think was going to happen if we won the header? Lad had all the time in the world.

Bristol moving the ball much quicker than us... change of shape and some player's needed for the 2nd half....agree with other comments Rudoni not on his game at all today.

No, and for somebody much bigger he's weak as piss in an individual battle in comparison

Heā€™s been massively overhyped after the Oxford game. He has been totally anonymous and will never have o hares energy levels

He does challenge him? He's on the floor between his legs looking up at him.

It was clearly interfering.
