We used to play lovely little triangles in and around their box. Now we just get aimless crosses in.
That were often harmless. The issues we’ve seen this season are the same ones we had against the top half teams last season. Too predictable and lethargic i.e. no risky passes between defensive lines.

CM was the number 1 priority signing this summer and unbelievably we haven’t resolved this. We had issues but to not get anything in was bad.

I say this being satisfied with our transfer business, I’m just genuinely baffled at how we haven’t got a CM in. Especially as we went for two marquee calibre signings in Browne and Stamenic.

The worry for me was that they didn’t seem to be planning to bring anybody in and then Palmer left as well, he obviously forced the move.

We have spent ages looking for a Hamer type player all they had to do was go to Norwich and look at number 26.

We have spent far too much money in forward areas and have too many players there.

Robins has been a revelation for us for sure and I sincerely hope we start to improve quickly but he has to take some of the blame for the performances this season and at the end of last. We seem to have a soft underbelly with too little aggression and lack of a genuine leader on the pitch.
The club has invested significant funds for the first time in years, I hope they haven’t blew the piggy bank on bang average.

Our Performance Director started in February. This is one of Dr Roberts' quotes, when she was interviewed by CET.
“I say this to Doug all the time, that we need to make sure that our players are the best conditioned, the best prepared, physically and mentally, for the season ahead."

Since mid-March we have been noticeably flat in our performance levels apart from a few games. It would be harsh to use the end of season downfall to judge her impact, but you would hope that we would have at least started this campaign with some energy and endeavour. However, there has just been a continuation of our end of season apathy.
Maybe in the long term, approaches and practices introduced by her will show some benefits, but performance wise it has been a decline since.

Something needs to change tactically I think ,someone suggested on here yo play binks just in front of the back four which could work imo , not convinced by by the current two center backs would play Thomas and kitchen , we were knocked off the ball to easily today and so slow in possession today

You only have to look at the way the Norwich manager has them playing compared to us.
They moved the ball quickly, weren’t afraid to play out from the back (admittedly helped by our inability to take advantage when they did make mistakes), and had a plan.
We didn’t know what we were doing, and this is with a squad largely established from last season.
Robins is now being exposed as tactically weak, exposed by Vivash going - I personally think it is time for a change - time runs out for all managers at some point.
This season has already gone due to our complete lack of midfield - Robins has to take some responsibility for allowing such poor recruitment, especially when we clearly had funds but bought in the wrong positions.

That was their first win of the season and they were booed off in their first home game.
Just for balance.

The worry for me is Robins comments at the end of games. He looks defeated, and is blaming players basically for lack of effort/application. If this continues then a rift between management/players could well be the outcome, with lack of moral and performance ensuing. Robins deserves plenty of time to turn it around, but if we get on a slippery slope……..

It's our our main threat, barring a mistake from the opposition. Lots of passing, standing still for a bit, then hope Milan or Bidwell can get a cross in.
I think we get it wide and then pass it inside or back to the centre backs to restart.

Was just so frustrating today. Players didn’t move in or out of possession. When a Norwich player had the ball he has two or three options on it, our players just stand there watching, no one goes to help out, there’s no patterns where a player knows where someone will be if needed. No one dragging players out of position or moving into space to receive the ball. Just basic basic stuff we aren’t doing.

And we try and always work it wide despite none of our wide players putting in great crosses and none of our forwards being particularly dominant in the air and we have no one making late runs or following in or even going far post when the same shite floaty cross inevitably is overhit to the other side. Strikers start making runs but the midfield never hits them early unless is another floaty bollocks ball usually to the keeper.

It’s just all so shit.

Kitching on the bench I get but Thomas I do not understand

I’m glad palmer has gone but robins needs to sort out his best 11 quick

Why?

Why can other teams start well but we aren’t allowed?
Because we have forward players that require ages to get upto speed and squad has improved making team selection harder, robins has made a few mistakes

it’s not how you start it’s how you finish

Is it fair to take last seasons form into consideration? Probably around 1 win in the last 10. Worrying.

I think it can be excused by the cup run but then that shouldn’t be a factor now, so it’s worrying we haven’t seen glimpses of what the new plan in with the new coaches and players.

One thing we can't overlook is the business side of things. We simply have to get something out of all of our signings. Not in a position to be selling them in 1-2 seasons at a loss else we are back pre Vik and Hamer

Another big concern is if I asked what the style of place is, a lot of people would say possession but we only had 42% possession at home today. What is the style and why do we always change it at the start of the season these days instead of evolve it.

Plus we have a large amount of our possession in our own half where we can’t hurt anybody but ourselves

That form was to do with the fa cup run and a small squad. This is just players not settled and a lot of structural changes. The international break has come at the perfect time for us really

you’re making excuses here - the issue last season was the players were tired because we didn’t recruit in January and lost a couple to injury, so didn’t have quality players to cover positions…

the issue this season? the players looks knackered, we have a couple of injuries and we don’t have quality players to cover those positions…

we haven’t recruited where we need it, and it’ll show if Tats is out now for any length of time, we are a RW, RB and at least one midfielder short, and it’s been that way for some time now, but nobody has done anything about it.

in terms of Robins, I don’t think what he’s done before gives him the right to an extended stay if he isn’t performing, that’s ludicrous, and I’m not saying he should go before you shout me down, however today (and not for the first time) he has shown he has no idea of how to change tactically mid game to counteract a change by the opposition, we played very well first half, Norwich changed it at half time and Robins just didn’t know what to do!

we were up there with the favourites for a reason, because we do have a fairly strong squad in parts, but if they aren’t doing the business on the pitch who’s responsibility is that? squarely at the door of the manager unfortunately, and if there is an issue now with him and some players, maybe as a result of his falling out with KP, it’s not going to make future performances any better either
