Who selected and appointed the coaching staff ? (1 Viewer)

I would strongly suggest the exact opposite, a hugely successful businessman will know a lot about infrastructure and building a successful venture away from the pitch .
My guess is Clair Roberts was recruited to oversee what he doesn't know a lot about .
Wow, so she’s basically running areas of the club now.

Well she's never been involved in an actual football club competing to win actual matches and neither has he. He's involved in hedge funds which is usually a gamble on investor's money.

Sorry now you're just being silly .
I don't know King , don't know what his agenda is with us but he has progressed us off the pitch massively and that is unquestionable
To compare him to SISU is just folly
And everything seemed to be moving in the right direction under SISU in the first year or so.
It’s early days still but it’d be naive not to have doubts after what we’ve been through.

It's not naive to believe that the overhaul of the training facilities and facilities being built to add to them . It's not naive to think that the club shop is better , marketing is better, the match day experience is better (albeit away from the pitch) . Doug may sell us as soon as we make the promised land ( if ever) but he has basically took a championship side on the pitch and a non league side off it and pretty much aligned it in very little time .
I don't see King as SISU in any way ,shape or form

Tbf there was hardly a queue of people lining up to buy our shit show of a club. He's bound to have hedge fund connections to have even been at the table with Seppala. We should reserve judgement either way because we basically don't know, but, he's not SISU, he's not a football fan, he does want to make money and the only way he makes that is by turning us into a saleable asset. Ideally in the PL, but by getting all of the off field bits done, we look more attractive to any future perspective buyer.

Even someone just turning up at Ryton before they get to the detail would now hopefully think it's something more professional and not the shambles it was. The next project I believe is acquiring land and a hotel, well that makes sense too, for the club and the balance sheet. The main issue is that none of us know and really only care what happens on the pitch, and we're impatient for that success.

Why is everyone obsessed with Claire Robert’s as if she has total control and influence.

She specialises is sports psychology and has worked for other clubs and the Olympic Team in psychology motivation and coaching. She has played for Aston Villa. She doesn’t recruit players, train them or pick the team

She's heavily involved with recruitment if what she says in her CET interview is correct.

Boddy’s replacement doesn’t get mentioned whatsoever.

Because everyone wants someone to blame other than the manager without understanding the roles each person does.

same with the coaching staff. Nobody actually knows what role they’re fulfilling

Yeah the psychological profile. 80% of the team was here before her too.

Well yes, at best she could only be involved in a small number of transfers, I acknowledge that.

Though I'd imagine one is Dovin who it now seems is quite a timid lad.

Wonder if the profiling picked up on that?

Even Dovin can be excused, new league, new team - needs to get comfortable. You can judge that in a year unless we keep chopping and changing him

Man the stuff you’re willing to say…

Yes no one understands the roles that have had entire interviews dedicated to explaining. We are all but simple yokels who don’t understand the elite and mysterious ways of Modern Club. Only a fool would assume those with responsibility for how the players perform should be blamed for player performances at all. Has no one noticed the bespoke canteen menus??

Becuase you’re taking the word performance out of context in sporting terms.

Again - she’s not looking at why Thomas can’t pass, or Kitching decides to unexpectedly goes awol.

It’s the same role she’d have fulfilled in the Olympic team, and working with the premier league. - psychology, sports science, fitness, nutrition - she probably looks at the benefit of sleep

You seem to be willing to give everyone time except one of our most succesful ever managers

And I’ve said I don’t want him to go. It’s this fallacy that he appears to be the only one not at fault.

But his remit is - picking the team, making motivating them and giving clear instructions. We seem directionless and the players seem unmotivated.

The last two seasons we’ve started badly but he’s had mitigating circumstances, training ground ripped up/new squad, year before the stadium was a mess

difference is - the last two seasons we weren’t playing badly we were just unlucky at times. This year we’ve been woeful, and getting worse.

we know the players we have are talented, and are decent players. Robins needs to start getting the best out of them.

if they don’t get 4 points from the next two games, we could be in the relegation zone with 4 tough games after that

I've never said he's blameless.
But I find the talk of replacing him and discussions on who to replace him with by some people unbelievable to be honest.
He deserves more time and support.

Ultimately it’s a results business. He’s not getting results, the players seem like they’re not bothered, he chops and changes his team. The subs are uninspiring.

if they were unlucky I’d agree with you - but the above is signs of a manager losing his grip.

to be honest - it’s really on the players but if it’s a case of chopping the manager and getting them fresh ideas or sacking off the entire squad - there’s only one outcome

Never said anything about the playing side mate.

The coaching however.

To clear it up, Robins understood Adi had to go after what happened. That was done with Robins blessing.

Robins wanted another No2, it's how it works best for him with a tight knit team.

Claire Roberts and Doug in their infinite (non existent) football wisdom felt otherwise and went with the approach were seeing now. Once it's been put in place it can't be dismantled with how much it's cost

Hence my past comments of Doug giving Robins just enough rope to hang himself. Whether intentional from Doug or not
@Saddlebrains have you heard version of events re what happened with AV? Given silence from all, speed and solicitors suggest its a (gross) misconduct issue?

Betterdays said his relationship with Robins had broken down and betterdays is definitely ITK though it does appear there was something more than that.
