I’d be surprised if he doesn’t move to Man Utd. They’re still one of the biggest clubs in the world and could easily be playing CL football within the next couple of seasons.

Absolutely ludicrous stats, clearly decided to stop assisting this season and just score goals for a move lol

Viktor not following his manager to Old Trafford in January
"Gyokeres costs 100 million and it's very difficult. I'm not going to pick up any Sporting player in January," said Amorim

I don’t mind people calling Man Utd “United/Utd”.

it’s people who call Man Ciity “City” that annoy me.

Man Utd have historical prestige, Man City do not
Wierdly the one that annoys me is people who call Inter "Inter Milan".
Inter is short for Internazionale. They have never been called Inter Milan, only the press and people here call them that.
It's like calling Arsenal "Arsenal London".

I’d say he’s more likely to move next summer regardless of where he goes. I just don’t see teams like Man City and Arsenal paying the release clause.

Lots of tremendous players have come from that league, his current goalscoring record is on a par with Eusebio.

My dad got 2 tickets for the 1968 Euro final at Wembley. Decided to take his mate instead of me!
I did sell the programme and match ticket for £95 a couple of years ago.

Can't see Gyokores moving in January as Sporting are more likely to be able to exact the release fee, or closer to it in the Summer when more teams will be in a position to bid for him.

Nice article on him. Not as much on his time here as I thought there would be.

Here's hoping he smashes a hattrick against Man City tonight and gets ahead of his international teammate Isak on some teams shopping list.

Still think he would be mad to join Man U. His agent will have better things in mind surely.

Good story on Vik here by Sky. Apologies if posted elsewhere.

Some interesting comments from Viveash in this one.

"Vik would want to do training sessions to be the way Vik wanted to work. He wanted to do finishing at a certain time, he wanted to do this, he wanted to do that. He had a strong character, strong personality and when you get two of you like that, then you have to find a way of communicating.

"And you'd butt heads at times, for the good of each other really, but he certainly understood his worth as time went on. He was almost unplayable in the Championship in a lot of those games.

"But towards the end of that season, there were frustrations and things around him as an individual, maybe that's when, whether his head was being turned.

"He became quite difficult. And I think he'd be honest with that. He became quite difficult to work with in terms of trying to train every day."

I was tipping Vic for Man United when they had Weghorst up top.
How he isn't top of EVERYBODY'S shopping list is beyond me. 🩵⚽🩵

He's unplayable most days.

Interesting article if accurate, and there is no reason to suppose it isn't.
I always believed Vik wouldn't have played for us again after the end of that season, even if we had got promoted. I think the deal with Sporting was already done from Vik's point of view.
And also Adi's comments reinforce my belief that he found a way of working with Vik that wouldn't necessarily have worked with our current players, and that could have changed his approach and contributed to his demise.
