Not a chance in hell we make playoffs this season or next whoever it is
I wouldn't have thought so. Not unless we can do some great work in the January window.

We need a new centre back and central midfielder in, minimum.

Could teach Sheaf to shoot, he’s fucking awful at it. Convinced he’s been told not to shoot.

An alternative perspective:

This is a great outcome for Mark. He leaves still a hero, the victim. He leaves with the crowd with him not against him. He leaves without it going horribly sour in the way most managers leave. He leaves with 2 years money and a great reputation in the EFL. Just like Eric Black he will forever be remembered as a manager with very few negative memories.

IF and it’s a big IF we find a manager that gets us promoted and we kick on again as a club then we as fans win too. If we get promoted and King sells the club to a much wealthier owner who keeps us as a Premier league club we win again.

Elite sport is about fine margins ….. remember that play off final. We didn’t turn up for 60 mins under Robins, the same in the Semi Final. They are two of my personal favourite recent moments with City but even during them they felt like they were turning sour for a long period.

I will be forever grateful to Mark, i have nothing but positive memories of him, but i‘M a Coventry City fan. The club will always come before any individual for me. Always has.

Great post.

Robins could have stayed and we could very easily have been sat in the bottom three at Christmas. It would have eventually turned. It wasn't too pretty at Preston.

He leaves a legend before it toured truly sour.

We are Coventry fans above everything.

On way to Sunderland. Fair to say you've read the room wrong quite spectacularly on this one
Ok I'll keep an eye out for the boycotted seats or the big protest today

Like I said before I expect robin songs and maybe some anti king chants today and maybe first home game back

But then I expect things to settle

You're right.

I'm shocked by the outrage. I said weeks ago that this will divide the fan base more than anything in the clubs history.

However, it's on another level. I genuinely think people are more angry with this than when SISU announced they were taking us to play home games in Northampton.

People are fucking fuming.
And how are you going to see boycotted seats as a) no ones said they're boycotting and
b) it's not sold out

Someone who admits he knows nothing about football should be nowhere near making such a decision. You may as well ask the forum to decide at that point.

People still don’t understand that this is a short term project for King.

This is it. People see "5 year plan" and think that's long term. It's not.

But, eventually they will calm.

At least I hope they do. I'm genuinely concerned for people based on what I've heard in the last few days. Comparing it to a death in the family is worrying.

There are parallels between the way some of our fan base are acting and the unhinged behaviour of leftist tiktokers after the US election. Fortunately a lot of it is performative.

A common thing other fans in this league always said about Mark robins coventry

" will be a very tough game , they're a good side "

Always
I don't disagree, but every manager says that before every game don't they?

Why do we obsess about what other fans think?

It's like when people take an interest in some 13 year old who's never been to a game in his life making an ordered list of fans with the best limbs.

How many teams do we say the same about though in fairness?

A lot of them comments are on the surface of things like league table/ past meetings etc. not analysis of current performances.

We played a good brand of football under Robins... the season we made the playoffs we were organised and pressed in spells and we countered superbly .

Infact this season so far is the only season I can think where Robins maybe tried to sway away from this style
The best we played in the championship IMO was the first real season back (RICHO + crowds).

Maatsen and Dabo holding the width, O'Hare and Hamer in the middle and mcfazden at the back (who was a better footballer than he got credit for) and of course Godden and Vic up top.

it's common knowledge that under Robins fans of other clubs used to worry about playing us as they all thought we were good side
