Perhaps it could be Lampard as Head, Morris as Assistant. Cole defense, Boateng Midfield, Williams Goalkeeper and Rhys Carr whatever he does (attackers?) with Dempster and Delaney dropping to the academy or becoming assistant assistants

Out of the 3 (hopefully) incoming ex Chelsea, which ones considered the elite level tactician? Morris?
It's not something Lampard is known for is it?

Sounds like a big expense having a Prem kind of setup on a Championship budget. They wouldn't come cheap. Either King would have to dig deep or it would affect our player budget.

say what you want about Rhys Carr but he’s actually done a great job imho

Agreed. There was always the potential that everything would fall to pieces and the fans would really turn on the team.

He's managed to keep things going

The hold up is the cash. Dougs not agreeing (and rightly so) to just say name your price and do what you want

If we remember back to the forum Doug wanted a Head Coach to work with the current setup

Lamps won't. He wants Morris and Cole with him. Fair enough of course

This however leaves Doug forking out a lot more than he wanted too. So negotiations have been slower than expected

Both parties still very keen and it's not a million miles away at all. Just more of a sticking point than Doug first imagined. Maybe his naivety showing again. But I'm glad in a way he hasn't just lobbed a chequebook around

Who’d have thought the conspiracy theorists were talking shite.

It’s going to be a right old cockney knees up.

CCFC flat caps on sale in the shop.
Pie and liquor and jellied eels for half time.

We have a pie and liquor shop just about 4 mins walk away.

As I am a vegetarian, I tend to just go for the jellied pea protein.

Didn't he sack Robins because he wanted an 'elite' head coach? Maybe he should have thought about the wages before getting rid of Robins.

Hope it does cost him a shit load of money. After all, you can't get 'elite' on the cheap.

It's not going to cost him anything.
The cost is on the club and the more money spent on coaching staff is less money spent on playing staff

If we’ve been trying to for two weeks to figure this out we should just move on. It doesn’t set the owner/head coach relationship up for success when once if you is crossing a red line to make it happen - either DK acquiesces and sets a dangerous precedent, or he doesn’t and FL spends all of his time writing forlorn love letters to Jody Morris from the trenches and waiting to be reunited whenever a job closer to home/the premier league pops up.

The longer this saga drags on with Lampard apparently digging his heels in on wages and coaching buddies, the less I like the sound of it. He's hardly a sought-after coach after all.

If we were to turn in another good performance tomorrow and get a result at Burnley I could easily be swayed to keeping Rhys Carr for an extended period. So far he's done a very good job.

Won't cost him anything, will cost the club.

Robins has gone. Let it go.
So who owns our club? Who would have to fund it?

Seems like quite a few have very short memories. We got totally in the shit before having someone running our club in a way that was unsustainable. We have had to climb our way back up which has taken a lot of years to achieve. Now suddenly it is expected that we should bring in ex Prem and ex England players not thinking where the money is coming from.

Then people like yourself say it isn't King's money. Our club doesn't have the funds. The money brought in by Robins has been spent.

Do you think Lampard and Cole would be happy on just a few grand a week?

I'd like to see them here, but if King thinks it's pushing the boat out you far financially then he'd be right to pull the plug.
Not worth the risk

It has the funds to appoint various members of staff to positions it didn’t previously have…

OK, King will pay them out of his pocket from the goodness of his heart.
