He’s probably passing on what his ‘source’ said and his source may not have specified what he meant by saying Eustace interviewed for the job.

As I said, the difference between the club talking to him directly or indirectly via representatives is the same thing.

When a club approaches a manager at team, it seems like the process is expedited as all parties are on the same page (most of the time).

Either way, I’m not a massive fan of Eustace and would be deflated if he was Robins successor.
he said he came in for an interview

that is very different to informal approaches to someone's agent

I have a mutual friend of Eustace from his childhood in Sutton Coldfield that I've mentioned on here before, so if it gathers any traction I'll be able to find out quite easily which side the truth is on, but for now I'll sit back whilst you all argue who has the smallest cock.
My money's on this guy.

Something looks amiss I thought King said he would have a new coach in place for SUFC at the forum … if it’s not announced by Wednesday I don’t think it FL -

Eustace is going to take the tough games, Lampard is going to be parachuted in to manage the easy ones. Gotta get that win percentage back up!

I've knocked him but I feel it would probably be a more solid, what you see is what you get, risk free appointment - He'd be a competent manager and solidify us but I don't know if he has the minerals to take us into the upper echelons of the League as I do believe he is just a mid table Championship manager, I'd go as far as saying it would probably be a bit of a dull appointment

Lampard of course there is a greater risk appointing him as there is potential for it to be an absolute disaster but I feel there is a way higher reward should it work out but it is defo more of a gamble than Eustace

I'd choose to take a punt on Lampard if I made the decisions but we shall see

He'd like to spin it that he's been through a thorough interview process, albeit he probably gave it to Frank before MR left. Hopefully only a gentleman's agreement and Frank switches his interest to Leicester.

No chance he'd be interested in that job. The expectations there compared to reality mean it's a poison chalice for someone like FL who needs to now prove himself.

To be fair on John, he’s only really managed mid table teams but have got them above expectations.

Birminghams 17th finish was there highest in around six seasons I think and he left them in the playoffs.

Blackburn he took over at 18th and there currently top half (last time I looked).

While he’s not the biggest name or got a big track record, he has improved championship sides playing decent football. Would be interesting to see him backed at a club like ours.

Which to me sounds exactly like we thought, that he wants the new man in after the difficult games!
Would sound tinpot to anybody coming in ...'wait until we've played these tough games, and then you can start'. Any prospective manager would / should find that odd. Imagine if we had lost all 3. and then missed play offs by 1 point, or got relegated by 1 point. Would be madness.

Eh maybe but it’s all maybes atm isn’t it. Think Saddles probably the best bet that it’s just taking a bit longer to work out the finer details of coaching

I agree with you. Just sounded like when Doug said that he'd already decided that was the plan.

Just guessing of course.

John Eustace would be a good appointment. Local, ex player and a natural for us as likely to stay around if things go well

Bring in Mark Robins as director of football and would be a great team.

No evidence but I have a feeling the Lampard deal is sealed. They just knew it's going to be extra toxic if he gets off to a losing start so didn't want to drop him straight in against Sheffield U and Burnley
