Just listened to the presser, I thought FL came across really well, sounds knowledgeable, very respectful, but also sounds like he has a hunger to do well.

As FL said the proof of whether he does a good job will be in the results, hopefully we start with three points to boost the confidence on Saturday.

At least let them actually say it before you call them a wombat ffs!

It's already been said, have you not seen the post about the pictures at Ryton.

I agree.

He came across very well and by the end I had convinced myself that signing him is a good move, even though I would have preferred it if we hadn’t sacked Mark Robins.

Let us hope that FL can match nice words in a press conference with good performances from our players 🤞

He comes across extremely well. Got a good feeling about this now.

You won't hear one Everton supporter say he didn't come across well, was extremely likable etc, but he was dreadful there.

These press conferences are designed to get people on side and get their hopes up but they have little bearing on what's to follow.

I do believe though that even if he does fail he will have given it his best with 100% commitment and that's all I ask. Hopefully though this is the time he gets it right.

The same could be said for 99% of managers. One major positive for us is that he has to succeed to have a future in management.

Definitely. I said in another post these things are pretty generic no matter who the manager is, similar questions, similar answers.

But it will be a while before we know if he's the right man and that will be based on what happens on the pitch, whatever happens over the next few games, great start, shite start, it will be a while before we can really judge though, (unless he's the 2nd coming of Peter Reid or Russell Slade).

Lampard came across well and is certainly a likeable character. He’s our manager now so we all want him to do well, but it certainly helps that he’s not an idiot.

King, however, did not. When that mask slips you certainly get a glimpse of what some of those ITK’s are talking about. And I’m not even anti King, but if that was my first exposure I wouldn’t be a fan.

He’s a successful bloke used to getting things right and people agreeing with him
He’s been decisive
He’s taken a huge decision
He’s got a great person in
Its cost him and the club a huge amount of money
He’s not set unrealistic expectations
Does he get tetchy yep
Does he hold grudges yep

But definitely not Chris Wilder. 😁

I’m not disputing any of the above, all fair comments.

I’m solely talking about the impression he gave yesterday, in my view.

King has done what he feels he needed to do, I'm sure with the best intentions for the club.
But it's now time for him to step out of the limelight.
He's appointed an articulate, media savvy manager, let him be the public face of CCFC.

“What draws you to football management, because surely you don’t need to, and why Coventry City?”

One question and he wasted it with that. Fucking idiot, whoever it was.

Later on as well, “why bother, why do you need to?”

Fuck me 🤦‍♂️
