It sounds exactly like being told how to live our lives, being controlled by one means or another. It’s another example of Starmer opening his gob and sticking his foot right in it, another example where he should have said nothing.

Words cannot adequately express how much I despise that man. Is that being misandrist?

It’s another example of you not having the foggiest what you’re even angry about. Boring me to tears.

It's a real shame that you haven't noticed it being done for your whole lifetime by all governments regardless of political persuasion.

"STOP THE BOATS" and Rwanda worked a treat, innit. Not expecting a mature discussion about how you reverse a long term trend or accept that trend and plan for how to make the best of the situation... but a LOL for now.
And the rest, how many are here illegally that the government don't even know about

Pretty mad when you think of some of the stunts that members of the previous government pulled and kept their jobs!

She was far too left wing and outspoken for Starmer - he had already distanced the government from her after the P and O comments

Not entirely sure its a coincidence that this was known to the party prior to her appointment and then someone seems to have fed the story to the press shortly after she made comments Starmer wasn't prepared to back.

Absolutely pathetic reason to stand down TBH. Someone’s clearly got it in for her. I think she’s been pretty good too.
Being convicted of fraud a pathetic reason? Reeves ought to go as well for falsifying her CV, much was made of her experience as an economist when she was appointed chancellor.

And then Starmer should go for appointing them. You know if this was Boris and the Tories you would be screaming for it.

And you know that if it was Boris and the Tories the mainstream media would remain inexcusably silent until the tide was overwhelming.
Haigh has done the right thing by offering her resignation. And starmer for accepting it.
As for starmer should go for appointing her (and Reeves)…if only such standards in public life had been followed by numerous previous governments.
