“came back well” that would be after the two goals we gave them. Same at Sheff Utd tbh. I’d rather not have to come back at all.

Put all the spin you like on it, we’ve been awful.
You said we weren’t motivated. You don’t come back from 2-0 down away at top of the league if you’re not motivated?

I've not actually worried yet because I do think we've played well, just shit at the back.

Then I went to Burnley and today as well was awful. We've conceded 6 from 8 shots on target.

Milan and Dasilva uncomfortable. Sheaf and Eccles not existent.

Until 2 games ago Eccles player of the season for me.
Dogshit v Burnley, steaming pile of dogshit today

Same old same old really.

They are terrible, we’re making them look far better than they are.

Where are our subs? Watch one come on now and get injured because they haven’t warmed up properly.

Probably making use of the gym that's in the change in rooms, running machines etc.

It is obvious, comparing last season with this, that we have a lot of decent players (MVE and Sheaf being just two examples) who are underperforming and have been for some time.

I have no idea why this should be so but I hope that FL can bring the best out of them.

🤞

He does have time , from me atleast he will get time , can't say the same about the others on here .

What I will say is that I found it very strange how we set out at the start of the second half ?

Like they were asked to soak up initial pressure but the way we had saka and EMC sit in and neglect to help in midfield was one of the strangest things I've seen from a coventry team in some time , it's easy to see how we conceded

underlying stats show we’re unlucky to have conceded as many as we have. .
But we haven't been unlucky in the main, though, have we.

Derby and Burnley got freak goals against us, but the vast majority have been teams cutting through our defence with ease.

And we have now. You expected everything to be fixed after 2 training sessions?

We gotta be patient.

Best Millwall next week and everyone is gonna be like wow 4/6 and lamps doing well maybe we can surge up table etc

No point talking about relegation right now
We beat Millwall next week I would be stunned. Relegation zone for the next home game.

The lack of goals from midfield both last season and this more so just isn’t good enough. Sheaf technically gifted but a couple of goals a season is the reason why he’s in the championship. He’s no captain either.
I rate Torp to take his place, he can find a pass, shows more desire, gets into more attaching positions and can break up play too. If he had some pace he would be even better.

Our whole setup was baffling. For a new manager to come in & within 48 hours try & reinvent the wheel is naïve to say the least. It was difficult to even see what the plan was.

He played players in their proper positions.. no excuse then if they don’t perform. Subs were good too I thought.
he will have learnt a lot today about character and ability away from the training sessions.

These players couldn’t be arsed to put in a performance to save Robins’ job.

These players couldn’t be arsed to put in a performance to impress the new manager.

They may be better than the league table suggests, but their attitude absolutely stinks

It didn't look like the players knew. We were so lopsided with an inverted left back, traditional right back. Eccles clearly unsure what he was supposed to be doing. Rudoni wide leaving us out numbered in central midfield. It was horrid.

On paper as a formation it looks normal but....

- We had Dasilva tucking in alongside the CBs at times.
- Rudoni & EMC both playing left wing at the same time.
- Then when BTA came on we switched EMC to the right yet he tucked so far in he was almost on Simms' toes & MVE had no option but to turn back every single time.

I'm glad someone else could see it!

Did anyone notice Lampard and either Edwards or Jones losing it in the second half at the lack of urgency and back passing right in front of them . I thought someone’s in for a wake up over the next couple of weeks.
Their fault for naming such a non existent midfield and expecting the centre halves to be play makers. It's awful.

They were hardly radical changes and did we really want his first Thane to be a game where he did nothing new at all?

We drew. We dominated possession. Yes it wasn't all great but fuck me it was a draw and only his first game. More reasons to be optimistic than pessimistic

I think if we are going to play EMC and Saka, then you need Simms up front rather than Bassette especially at home. Bassete OK if you want to play counter attacking football. Dovin back in goal Bidwell in for De Silva and Lati in for Binks

Harsh. He played a 4-3-3 and had everyone in their favoured positions. Overall play was similar to what we’ve seen but with a few different ideas. JDS on Meite was admittedly an odd one and didn’t work.
Rudoni was given a license to roam which is where he’s at his best.

After a few weeks of training and a few games we’ll see his style come through. Second half was abysmal but that’s not entirely his fault. I thought first half we set up well and played well, dreadful defending aside.

Dominating possession is the most meaningless stat in the modern game. We were 2-1 down at home to a bottom half side for 45 minutes. I’d be extremely concerned if we didn’t dominate possession.
