When will the penny drop with him. You could show me the transcript of this interview and I could tell you whose words they were.

I suspect we might see some Fabrizio Romano tweets in Jan about all the top clubs who are interested in him.

And then Mark Robins gets the Hull City job

Seeing as you forced your move to Hull and left us short in numbers, you wont get much sympathy from Coventry City and us fans.
Maybe the reason that you're constantly being left out is not everyone else's fault...maybe its you and your one dimensional gameplan ?

For all his faults I'd still have him as an impact sub over BTA.

And be £2.5m better off.
Agreed he offered something different. Surely his wage demands were less than a fee signing on fee and wages.

However also need to consider he is clearly.an impact sub not a starter with most managers which should be reflected in any wage negotiations. I think basic with a larger performance based bonus would be best for someone like Palmer

We got a great deal getting £750k for him in his contract year.

Just rinse and repeat from Palmer with zero self awareness.

He reminds me of a guy who used to work for me. Was never interested in working and appraisal time was rather negative. He said with no sense of irony that “I was another one. You lot all give me this feedback - none of you have a clue”

Indeed. Plamer has spent his career at numerous clubs as a bit part player. Maybe when every club that signs you ends up not playing you maybe it's not them that's the problem.

Looks as if I'm in a minority of 1, but I really liked him. Would like to have seen more consistency but always felt he could do something that others couldn't and unlock the door in a tight game.

He could do that but as you have said not regularly enough. He did it once every 10 games.

And ultimately as that interview shows he's a bit of a prick.

There’s no denying he had some skills, but his contribution whether on the pitch, on the bench or just training wasn’t consistantly good enough.

Some players cause more negativity, even if they are talented, by bitching and moaning and that shit becomes toxic. It’s just not worth having them in the dressing room for their occasional spot of brilliance.

Didn't do it regularly enough i don't think. I loved watching him when he was on his game but so much of his play felt like it was 'nearly' superb. I do agree that at present we miss having a central player willing to try something with the ball in tight spots though

Lord knows he was inconsistent, but we could definitely have done with someone with his skill set at times this season. Particularly off the bench to provide a spark.

Only Rudoni and Sakamoto have more assists for us this season and he only played 5 games to everyone else's 20!

He was always intent on trying to play a flair pass rather than retain possession then would wave his arms around when it didn’t come off 8 times out of 10.

Very skillful but you’ve got to do the basics first.

Yes. Let’s fill the team with players too scared to try anything more than a five yard pass in front of the opposition. Thats working great 🙄

No great loss, in all honesty. Just didn’t progress with us, or contribute much in the way of consistent performances and goals/assists.

As a sub to (hopefully) change things up, is really all that he has to offer. Even then, it was minimal.

Undoubtedly a talented guy, however I think he genuinely has very little to offer at this level.

I liked Palmer. He was superb against Wolves last season, and even in his worst performances, he'd make a chance. However, it was clear he was a luxury player, and wouldn't do the defensive work needed.
If he was scoring bags of goals, and had double digit assists you could forgive that, but he wasn't.
Probably right decision to let him go, as i'd imagine he was on big wages.
He would of been a useful option for us this season though. He ran at players, which then created openings.
