I just had a quick flick back and forgot that Kitching played against Sunderland didn't he. Carr's first game in charge.

Maybe there was a problem between Robins and Kitching. Who knows.

He's not been getting much game time at all though has he.

He is bound to get a game or two over the busy Xmas / New Year period.
Way too early to write him off.
Think Lampard and his staff will have an honest chat with him and help him develop further.

He may get a chance this week. Lampard might not want lati and Thomas to play all 3 games?
Lampard did seem to hint that everyone will get a chance. I'm going to assume if they are complete shite in training then probably not but otherwise we'll be seeing most of the squad get some minutes while he's figuring them out.

Dovin was on the bench though so unsure how injured he was

He was injured and Carr played Kitching in his first game in charge

When Kitching broke into the team last season, he was integral in our push up the table. He was the kind of centre back we'd been calling out for. Nasty and physical. Like most of the team, his form plummetted after the Wolves cup game. He's had a few starts this season, and has been (IMO) no worse than any of the others back there. He was at CB when we kept clean sheets against Bristol in the cup, and Blackburn at home. His last game was at Sunderland. He did well in that game.
Now, it seems people have decided he's finished here, as Lampard hasn't picked him yet.
Hope he gets a start this week.

Frank Lampard has gone on record in saying he will give everyone a chance in the squad.

As for Liam Kitching he may have to wait until there's an injury or a suspension to get his chance under Frank Lampard.

In the final third of the last couple of seasons we had injury problems and everyone on here was going on about how we'd ballsed up by not buying in January fo fill the squad. When we have enough players to cover the squad everyone says the guy who hasn't played for 3/4 games must be written off. People also moan if the squad is rotated too much. I would say that Kitching will get plenty of game time, we have 4 centre backs and they will all play.

i had forgot Lati was only 24. Young for a CB and opportunity to improve. Hope he does.

Kitching as a backup CB is fine. And not many teams will have such depth. Obviously spending 4 million on him is criminal and he has his obvious flaws

Unbelievable that we’ve spent so much on a CB if he’s deemed not good enough - for us that’s criminal.

Kitching is potentially our best CH. I think he’ll get his chance. But he does seem to have been unpopular - for whatever reason - with successive managers.
Lampard has only been through the door for 5 minutes! He probably hasn’t had long enough with the players to figure out his best team.

From the Cardiff and Millwall matches, there were 4 changes.

How many games have the successive managers had? 😂 5 for Christ sake!! Hardly a drama for him to be on the bench?

I don’t know about that. Although none of our defenders inspire much confidence, Kitching’s bizarre own goals vs Cardiff last season, his dubious record of picking up 3 red cards last season, his mistake against Sheff Wed that cost us a goal this season are all things come to mind. He even managed to pickup a yellow card from the sidelines against Spurs.

Still I guess he could be given a chance against a woeful Hull team.

I think he will get a chance under Frank once the dust has settled and he has his feet under the table and come good.

TBH if we end up only wasting 10% of our transfer spend it’s not that bad. Will be interesting to see who drops out the side once Lampard has had a proper transfer window in the summer.

I don’t really care if Kitching is a prick. If he can keep some goals out that’s all that matters. Apart from anything else he gives us some height and aggression.

Kitching is a prick of a bloke and thinks he's Maldini in his own mind

However

We cannot keep using Lati as a left sided CB. Binks has had his run and not really shown enough so id be using Kitching on Saturday deffo
100%. Appreciate Lampard wants to look at all the players, hopefully the look at Lati is done with now. He's just not good enough. Robins had a weird boner for him, I pray Lampard isn't hard for him too.

I say the same back 4 goes again Saturday & probably the keeper too.
They have some credit from the Millwall nil.
Eccles only one dropped in favour of Torp.
