Anyone else think Ryan Giles was absolutely appalling, one of the most overrated players in the division
Living off that one good season at Boro where everything just clicked for him. Outside of that he's not done much.

Hull are the worst side I've seen us play this year

Unless they have a miraculous January, they'll be a L1 side next year
Before Hull’s goal, I said if we lose to this lot, we’re in trouble. For all of the faults with our team, we do not make nearly as much basic errors on the ball.

That said, our defending at times was still under par against a poor team. We need support in midfield and defence.

That is literally the difference between success and failure in this division.

In terms of technical ability no one is much better than anyone else. Its the teams that can avoid mistakes that succeed

Apart from Rotherham last season, they are the worst side I’ve seen at Championship level

I thought they were fucking awful, we think we have regressed but at least we ain’t them - They looked a quality side last season

Things starting to unravel for their owner I think

The failings that we all know about only too well made it a much more difficult game than it should have been, but we were much, much the better side.

They looked better in the second half, but in the first they didn't really look like a team at all (yet were winning!).

That’s it though. We didn’t really look like scoring for all our possession and the first attempt they had went in. It’s been the same all season.

Didn't he try and change their name?

Our errors are just loaded in defence. Whenever Hull had a shot on target, I felt like we were going to conceded.

At the time of Hull’s opener, we’d conceded something like 13 goals from 16 shots on target! From the second half I believe Hull had 2, maybe 3 shots on target.

Pompey were even worse against Derby last night

I'd politely differ there.

He's just too slow to react to either the cross or the rebound. He runs over on the initial cross, over commits, and ends up way behind the line at the near post, then he's too slow/off-balance to get back in to the centre of the goal, where the ball slowly loops in.

He's definitely not the only one to blame, but he's not a good enough keeper to keep the shirt, imho.
Just watched it back. JDS who was playing really well up to that point didn't stop the cross. MVE totally at fault for the goal. His man got the header onto the post. Collins had absolutely no chance.

Loath am I to stand in the way of new songs when the atmospheres have been pretty pedestrian recently….but I don’t like the new EMC song and it’s a bit lazy to be recycling the Fadz and Palmer ones too.

Think Oxford will end up bottom personally. Shite team.
You may be right, getting tonked at home by Wednesday today.

On a positive note, the results today are pretty much going our way, all the teams below us losing or drawing.

Correction Cardiff are winning.

2nd correction, Cardiff shipped a goal at 90+5 and ended up with draw.

Much improved performance from MVE today, whether he was responsible for the goal or wasn't!
Yup. Still want to see him attacky byline more and vary crosses. He loves dink crossed but sometimes is in a position where firing it in low will cause more issues for defenders

But definitely a good game from him and it needs to be remembered that he doesn't get a chance to rest

I thought we played well, generally, throughout the game. Saw their goal coming about 15 seconds prior, just figures, any other team could have really punished the defence today. But even after going a goal behind it looked like we were sticking to the plan rather dropping heads, maybe so close to half times allowed everyone to resettle and maintain focus? I agree with many that Simms looked likelier to be the better starting option given the game plan and the opposition. If we're going to commit to being a crossing into the box only offensive it seems apropos to have a bigger, taller, more experienced target man of he-who-many-dislike.

EMC came off great overall today (and last few games!) and looking like he really is getting comfortable. I'd been admittedly skeptically cautious of him so far this season, thought maybe he'd need a few more months to shake loose bad habits and gain confidence transitioning to a tougher division, but he's showing what being given an extended chance (though just due to Wright's injury) can do for comfort and confidence.

Plenty of missed chances again today, we seem like we could score 2 or 3+ goals every game, overall an enjoyable match from my perspective.

I suppose the team sleepover worked. Everyone gets to enjoy a 🍕 🍕 🍕 party now

Absolutely no reason why he shouldn’t be our starting keeper for the rest of the season.
Looks like Lampard sees it that way, and look to introduce Dovin in the future I suppose. They are both under contract for a few years so makes sense to work with that and let Wilson go in the summer.

what was that chant today in 2nd half?
Never heard it before but sounded catchy but not loud enough to hear the words in block 22
