One thing that is becoming clear is that Frank is a pragmatist.

He started out wanting to play out from the back and through the lines but we have largely stopped that unless it’s genuinely safe to do so. We are also playing a much higher line now than when he first joined.

It might be that he knows that Bidwell and Paterson are not the answer but they are solid options for now.

Would be surprised if Bidwell starts next year but he offers experience throughout the squad and a level of aggression we overall lack.

Jay doesn’t fit the long term of what Lampard seemingly wants to do. Makes sense imo

Why would Doug do a U turn on loans in the middle of negotiating one. Doesn't make sense
Suspect truth is somewhere in the middle. There probably isn’t a loan ban but King won’t take one he doesn’t feel is value for money
We want to be really careful wishing to strip our squad. Us fans are so short sighted. A month ago people were begging for EMC to be shipped out

There were posters saying Wright should be sold back to Turkey as a loss. Now he’s the saviour we need back from injury.

Oh dear. No new LB in the summer then.

We weren't going to ever bring a LB in unless one of Dasilva or Bidwell were moved on.

Keeping Bidwell makes sense. He'll likely be put on a lesser contract, and he has invaluable experience that is sorely lacking in this team.

I don't really get the doom and gloom about retaining him to be honest.

Far better to keep him than Dasilva who is a complete liability.

Bidwell is poor and getting worse. The Godden comparison is apt. We need two LBs really.

Honestly Cam if we were linked with him at the start of the window would you have been happy ?
Like I've said on another thread , we would be mocking another club for signing him , it's a really underwhelming signing
Also why would we be mocking another club? 44 apps and 13 goal contributions last year, he's not some clogger.

I agree with this up to a point. Bidwell is not poor but he’s not going to get any quicker, and ideally we’d replace them both in the summer.

Hes nowhere near good enough for what we want and has never held down a first team spot since signing really. I don’t see the point in continuing with him when his contract is up.
