Simms will be fine again second half this season.

He's looking a lot better than he was earlier in the season once he gets a goal he'll go on to get another 10-12 before May.

The idea of a fluid front 3 with an inform Simms, EMC and Wright together makes me aroused.
I hope you're right, but I keep reading despite zero goals that he's already playing well, I can't see it.

Dovin 8
MVE 6 really bad first half slightly better second
Lati 6.5 poor first half but bullied Sinclair when he came on
Binks 6
Kitching 7
JDS 7.5 worried after first 10 but think he did well today
Torp 7
Allen 8
Rudoni 6.5
Simms 8
BTA 7

Agree with this except Torp 6.5. He did some good stuff but also some terrible passes. Also he doesn't always give the player on the ball and option to pass, i.e run and make an angle.
Simms more 7 than 8.

Dovin really does look the part at this stage. Dasilva was very good. Felt like far more came down the right than the left. Don’t think Simms was bad but the ‘outstanding’ and ‘bully’ comments feel way OTT for me. He worked hard, put himself about but there were some really low quality moments in there too. He’s still my pick for CF. God knows what you’re gonna get with BTA, 2 superb touches in the first half to hold up play, plenty of “what is he doing?!” then a superb finish to round it off

Lampard 10.
Spent previous weeks watching Da Silva being bullied by a long ball for 90 minutes with no help, first 10 minutes I was worried as he was being targeted again. Watched Frank talking to Binks and Kitching telling the to get tighter to the left hand side to help the situation and it worked.
Kitching definitely binks not good at covering as lcb

When he is on his game, I genuinely just love Ellis Simms. When he has confidence and he's running at people he's such as beast.

His passing has improved massively too. Plays such a big role in helping us build an attack.
Same i genuinely love Simms. Should have had at least 2 assists today.

Its a travesty he hasnt had a proper run (starts) in games. Hes getting close to the form where he scored 15 in about half a season.
Think he linked very well with Asante who i thought was on it from minute today and git worse after he scored. Very frustraing.

Torp passes well , always shows for the ball and now he tackles, becoming a good all round midfielder for me.

Da silva and Torp 6 and 5.5 but Rudoni a 7 wow
Correct ..Torp i thought was awfull not his fault though playing out of position on the right.offered no outlet for MVE at all.

He did a job hence just a 6.
Rudoni through ball was a thing of beauty get an extra point for being one of my favs.

Torp was not playing on the right.
He was first half...he was on RHS of any of yhe midfiekders...MVE did not have any outlet..Toro was always closest but never available. Hence he was always going back or side ways. We had no natural width at all. The wing backs was all the width we had.

Yes when you play wing backs then they are the only wide players and provide all the width.

Torp was playing central midfield, as was Eccles (not left midfield as you put in another thread.)

Binks getting higher scores than i expected. Some really hair raising defending, and Outpaced by an aging Naki Wells on more than one occassion

Kiching, Simms (worked hard) and Rudoni played decent

People still wondering why Robins had to go should look at the inclusion of Dovin and Kitch and recent upturn in form and results. It ain’t difficult. 👍💡

You either spent the whole game in the bar, or didn’t actually go at all.

Brilliant this 😂 a few weeks ago people were saying “Robins had to go because he’s wasted good money on players like Dovin and Kitching”.

And for what it’s worth…. Dovin started 11/14 under Robins. It was clear he was his preferred choice.

Robins played Dovin a lot so I don’t get your point
I think the point is that this season Robins chopped and changed from
Match to match which doesn’t help build players confidence or understanding on the pitch.

I think Dovin has been excellent since he was reintroduced into the team, I do think Frank prefers a more experienced and vocal keeper and his comments after each match make me think Dovin wouldn’t need to do too much wrong for Wilson to get another chance. I hope I’m wrong as I think Dovin is showing real potential and for that to blossom he needs to feel confident.

Torp was one of my top players for the game only bettered buy Dovin and Kitching.

He has a really neat trick of dispossessing an opponent legally almost from behind. It is is a shame that by and large thereafter he plays the ball back to reset the attack, rather than forward because at the point he robbed the opponent the opposition are in attack mindset and could be caught unawares. He must learn to seize the moment

Torp rather than Eccles has gained most from having Lampard as a coach

Best: Dovin and Kitching. Begs the obvious 'if only' question? Kitchings long passes down the left were particularly effective

Astonished by the negativity of the match thread during the 1st half. I really enjoyed it. It was either a bit frantic or more direct, take your pick But great fun. I was just so glad that either through choice or because it was forced on us by the Bristol high press, we were far more direct.

Nobody had a stinker. Simms caused them all sorts of problems and should have scored. You could say the same for Rudoni. Lati at least doesn't give the ball away like Thomas.

Negatives: Still not sure why we bought Binks. And sorry JDS, but even in a 3-5-2 formation and with all your lovely footwork, you are still pants at defending. That Lampard had to tell Binks and Kitching to cover says it all. And the neat footwork did not lead to anything. Bring back Bidwell for Blackburn Frank, please...I beg of you.

Not only is Dovin the better 'keeper, despite being 10 years younger, Dovin is not far off the same number of first team appearances as Wilson.
