Defensively, we’ve been poor all season and there isn’t much reason to believe that MR would’ve done much better than Rhys Carr or Lampard. Away we had Sunderland, Burnley, Norwich, WBA and Pompey. Home games v Sheff U and Cardiff. This is from a purely goals conceded perspective. Looking at our fixtures, the schedule was quite kind to MR, particularly at home where the best team we played was arguably Norwich.
The results that sticks out to me under Lampard (post-MR) is Pompey away. That’s the only one where I thought the result was particularly bad, the others were relatively expected. Last season, Norwich, WBA beat us away, Cardiff did the double over us. To echo something
