Dovin - 6 - Did what he had to do. Looks solid.
MVE - 7 - So much better in a back 4. His partnership with Saka is brilliant when they're clicking.
Thomas - 8 - Good goal, good display. Loved his interception towards the end of the 1st, smelt the danger and sprinted 15 metres to cut out a high ball.
Kitching - 6 - His slip at the end in front of Riis nearly cost us 2 points.
Bidwell - 6 - Struggled abit with Kesler-Hayden but wasn't given the help he clearly needed.
Grimes - 7 - He's so class and calm. Can't believe some Swansea fans were happy he left.
Eccles - 5 - This might be harsh but he wasn't great.
Rudoni - 8 - Probably my MOM. Does so much good work breaking from midfield and supporting the attack. Always a threat to score or assist.
Saka - 8 - One of his best games of the season. Gave both their left backs fits.
Simms - 6 - Love to see him working hard but he definitely should've scored at least one. If he slid and stretched he would've scored MVE's deflected shot.
EMC - 6 - Clearly not match fit or upto speed but he grabbed an assist. Very happy to have him back.

Rudoni MOTM excellent throughout
Simms did everything except get himself a goal
Grimes calming influence we needed
Defence impressive and far better as a 4 without the liabilities of JDS & Lati

I was worried about Eccles first 10 mins. He was hiding and technically not good but I think he had a very good game in the end.

Simms another good centre forward performance

Mve saka Thomas kithcing grimes emc all great

Rudoni motm

We dominated but we were very much helped by Preston being utterly shit, the number of times they hit a pass and it went out for our throw in or just lost it in their half to the press!

Thought bidwell was poor - if Dasilva got caught under the ball as often as Bidwell did today there would be a meltdown on here🤣

Got done by a simple ball over the top for the goal

One thing I will say is that there were a lot of loose/over hit passes today by more than just Eccles . Rudoni and Grimes were as guilty at times but that is the trade off for the fast front foot style that Lampard wants to play .

Solid all over. Nice to see the Thomas haters have crawled back under their rocks and others recognising MVE's value again.

7.5 whole team, goalscorers +1

Haters is a bit strong , he has been rightly criticised for some abject defending earlier this season but he looks composed alongside Kitching again

I agree with the point that there isn’t consistency within the forum when Bidwell is exploited.

A big switch over to a fullback is going to happen, it doesn’t matter if it’s Bidwell, Dasilva or Ashley Cole. It’s a fault of the system if what comes from that switch is an easy cross because our fullbacks are being doubled up on (e.g Dasilva and MVE vs Wednesday).

Not saying Dasilva is perfect, he isn’t. But he’s not the absolute calamity he’s painted to be

Last week when both wing backs were being overrun there was very little criticism of MvE even though he was equally as bad as DaSilva .
Some posters won't ever change their stance on certain players

Everyone was pretty good today. Eccles was the only disappointment.

Good to see Sheaf back on the pitch.
