Just thought Id post this to remember one of the best games I have ever been to as a city fan.
This was the start of our resurrection under Robins and its frightening that if the result had gone the other way what may have happened to our club.
Got to be up there for memorable nights along with the semi final at Middlesborough for me and a reminder of what Robins achieved for us all

As often remarked upon a genuine sliding doors moment.

Their equaliser chalked off for offside (it wasn’t) our killer third allowed to stand despite being offside twice.

Less well remarked upon features:
1) how good was Liam Kelly in that game? I really don’t think he was more effective in any other during his time with us.
2) the atmosphere was amazing…. But it might have all gone super sour had the result gone the other way. We were so packed into that side terrace and so many fans were “charged up” in one way or another that the mood could have turned very, very quickly.
3) look how calm Viveash is. Not just after we scored the first which is well known but on the final whistle here. It’s almost as if he thought that getting to Wembley was only half the story.
4) their first goal shouldn’t have stood either. Clear foul by Stead.

The charged up point is spot on. There was a real edge around me that night with multiple groups talking about smashing people's faces in.

You can love the bloke without thinking that he was good enough for a championship squad.*

Here is your regular reminder that Oggy spent one of his first punditry sessions for CWR saying that he thought we should have renewed Biamou’s contract rather than using valuable resources to buy Gyökeres on a permanent deal.

*Same as Robins, you can be grateful for what he and his team delivered, without thinking that he was unsackable.

1 goal every 6.75 games as a centre forward.
How would you describe that?
Not sure what that is in minutes played but also tbc had a spell of something like zero goals in first 30 or so games. Definitely improved during his time with us and should've Bern ok dropping back to L1 level I think but had unrealistic expectations and ended up L2 then nothing.

County game was a fantastic atmosphere. Everything went to plan - unlike the first home leg where we were very lucky.

Remember Robins stating the flares that the Sky Blue fans lit when lining the street at County’s ground pre game gave the players a huge lift. They felt incredibly energised and motivated from that support - great times 👍

Best game I’ve been too supporting the city. Beats Boro in the play offs and every Wembley trip. If we hadn’t won that there’s a chance we’d still be in league 2 or worse now.

Brilliant afternoon and night. Went to the game with my daughter and we got to Nottingham city centre for about 2 o’clock in the afternoon. Needless to say we’d had a good drink before kick off. Didn’t wear any colours but Cov fans were in all the pubs we visited.
For anyone who was there that night it has to amongst one of the best nights following our club

I was knackered that night. Was working in Kent on the day, checking the time all day because I didn’t wanna leave too late and fuck it up. Got home, quickly washed, patted the Mrs on the head and left for Nottingham.

Unfortunately was on my own as dad was away in Cornwall (still hasn’t forgiven himself), he was watching it with no sound in a pub and thought their wrongly ruled out goal went ahead as apparently he’d thrown a hissy fit and didn’t see the linesman. I called him after the game and said we’re up as Exeter were nothing special. From the early start and all the excitement later on I slept for a good 10 hours when I got home.

Just got very emotional watching the video.
I wasn't there as I'm an old bugger and I was worried there might be trouble which there wasn't.
Anyway my family members were there so I lived it through them.
Let's make sure we give MR the welcome he deserves when he's back at the CBS next week.

I got offered a ticket to this and turned it down
Every game I went to in the League 2 season we lost, so I felt it best I stay away!

Its really interesting to look back and see when the actual turning point was. Undoubtedly if we hadn't won this game there is a strong possibility we wouldn't exist now.

However I do think with hindsight the very lowest moment was Northampton. Steven Pressley deserves a huge amount of recognition for keeping the club going. Mowbray then got us our first top 10 finish (in any division) in 10 years, along with the first increase in crowds (bar outside Cov moves) in 10 years.

Its hard to say looking back if the rot had already stopped when Robins took over

Great evening and at the start of a glorious few weeks of weather leading all the way to the Euros that summer
