I’m going for a silly score in this. 5-2 or 4-1. We’re well over due one and so are Oxford a goal or 2.
If Oxford had scored every shot they had on target in their last 4 games they would have scored a total of 2 goals. They may be due a goal or two but they need to have some shots on target first. Then they have to beat Dovin.

Maybe they have a plan. But everything seems to be in our favour. We've won 7 in our last 8. They've won 0 in their last 6 scoring just 1 goal.

As long as we don't blow up like we did against Portsmouth we should have enough to win this game comfortably. But we can't afford to be complacent.

Let's see how good ChatGPT is .....

What do you think the score will be in the football match between Oxford United and Coventry City today?

ChatGPT said:

Based on recent performances and head-to-head statistics, Coventry City is favoured to win their match against Oxford United today. Coventry has secured three consecutive victories, including a 2-1 win over Preston North End in their latest fixture. They currently sit seventh in the Championship standings with 50 points from 34 games. In contrast, Oxford United has struggled recently, experiencing six winless games since January, placing them 18th with 38 points. Their most recent match resulted in a 2-0 loss to West Bromwich Albion.
Historically, Coventry has had the upper hand in their encounters with Oxford, winning four of their last six matches, including the previous three. In their most recent meeting in August 2024, Coventry triumphed 1-0 in the League Cup.

Considering these factors, a reasonable prediction for today's match is a 2-0 victory in favour of Coventry City.

Can't wait for this. Leaving at 10 even though it's just down the road as we're parked in Heyford Hill Sainsbury's so a bit of a walk to the ground.

I’m loving the predictions of a City victory but thought Oxford were much better than expected when they came to Coventry.
We will still have to be at our best I think to continue the march to the arch !
A fresh squad with a promotion just behind them and confidence high. They will still be a challenge, but as long as we give nothing away I can’t see us failing to score a couple.

I have a horrible feeling it's going to be a 2-0 or 2-1 defeat. 😞

So many times over the years we have had our bubble burst, when things have looked rather rosy.
I am hoping I end up with egg on my face at the full time whistle, but I feel the same.

I have seen us lose and draw to an awful lot of shite this season, but, to be fair, Oxford weren't shite.

One of those weird times when my head says 3-1 win and my heart says a frustrating 1-0 defeat!

Poor mobility following wash out of one of my prosthetic knees back in October (I'm in the less than 1% club that get an infection in a prosthetic knee that was replaced more than three years ago) and a six month antibiotic course which is making me feel really ill still prevents me from attending games.

The city of Oxford is very dear to me having spent most of my school holidays when my older sister lived there. It's always a thrill to go back.

Enjoy the game those of you that are going, safe journey. Give them a shout for me.

Sorry to hear about the knee situation. That must be both annoying and making you feel terrible. Hope the situation improves very soon I had a full knee replacement 8 weeks ago.

Realistically we’re one of the form teams in the league and they’re winless in 6.

Should be a comfortable win and given the early KO we’ll enter the top 6 (for the first time this season?).

Watching from abroad , only the 3rd game missed this season, the other 2 were Millwall away and Blackburn away
Hopefully good omens

You can tell to people like me who have been city fans for many decades and know what it’s like.
The despair we can cope with. It is rhe hope that’s a killer!

Usually don't sniff at an away point but given what we are trying to achieve we could do with a win here and away at Derby too. I think we'll win both.

Exactly the type of game you'd expect us to mess up

Oxford 0-3 Coventry

A win and a decent chance we'll be in the top 6. Frank's got to make the most of this as motivation, build confidence, done brilliant to be in this position.

Collins, Bidwell, Binks, Latibeaudiere, Sheaf, Torp, Wright, Paterson, BTA

I am wondering why Collins is the back up keeper Id rather have Wilson..to be fair I think I'd rather have an outfield player go in goal than Collins!
