So who's doing Jamie Allen's job in this scenario?
Who would you leave out? Torp or Rudoni?

It would take a bit of tinkering/change of tactics. But I trust Lampard to be able to get both in the side. It isn't as though either of them can only play in one limited area.

Don't know what's been said above, but just came on to say Torp's passing range is unreal. You can't drop this guy. Must be a forwards dream to play in front of Torp.
Multiple threats in the side now with Grimes' passing from deep or Torp more advanced. More than one route to goal and more than one plan to get the ball up the pitch, makes so much of a difference.

He definitely seems to have come on leaps and bounds since Lampard's arrival.

His all-round game play is so much better.

People talk about Lampard's arrival as a marked divide between night and day. There were signs of slow improvement under Robins. Lampard has kicked us on. How much of that has been players feeling they have to prove themselves to a new manager. Or Lampard being a tactical genius is open to debate.

A lot of what Lampard has been doing is the same as Robins selection and tactics wise. The biggest change for me is a quicker tempo playing out from the back. Also knowing when to go a bit longer.

A case of minor tweaks rather than major surgery.

I think there's a fair bit of wishful thinking to believe that Torp can do everything he did yesterday AND do what Allen did (who was truly everywhere). I also don't think he's defensively as good as Allen. But the vibes are pretty good right now so just throw caution to the wind I guess!

Lampard sees him as able to play a six and a ten, I think he’ll try him there.

How gutted must Kasey Palmer be right now given where we are , where Hull are and who we have now as a manager

I take it you wanted Kasey to stay with us?

I think its much like the EMC, Wright situation. To me it was always obvious he'd want to at least try and get them into the same team... same applies to Rudoni and Torp, its clear Lampard really rates both players and with good reason.

But it is not like Robins didn't . Lampard has inherited them Fair play he is getting the best out of them. But I also think Lampard rates Eccles and Allen, unlike a lot of fans on here.

Having played at the top level Lampard will be thinking how to utilise the squad, not fixating on his favourite eleven players.

I don't get your point about Robins and the utilising the squad goes without saying but he'll also have an idea of what his best 11 is.

I'm sure he's more than happy at Hull
He's on more money there, and even when fit. wouldn't get a game if he was still here.

But the best 11 is more fluid than fans think

It's not really. The keeper is obvious, 3 of the back 4 are obvious, Grimes is obvious, Rudoni is obvious and being kind at least 2 of the front 3 are obvious. None of these get rotated too often when fit.

The major difference between then - with Robins - and now must be the complete understanding between coaching ethos and method. Lampard brought his team and got rid of the interim who had to implement Robins’ style which didn’t work. Clearly, singing from the same hymn sheet has given the squad confidence and belief. Lampard is articulate whereas Robins was dreary.

What?! We had 7 great years under Robins, it only went sour for a few months.

I'd be interested to see how Kasey Palmer would have done under Lampard, might have brought his game on as well. He clearly has an abundance of talent, just didn't turn it on very often.
I liked Palmer and stood up for him alot. Whilst I don't disagree lampard could have improved him I just don't see the work rate and discipline required to work in this midfield.

I'm glad he's gone tbh

And like I said I used to get accused of loving him

Lampard will play the side he sees as best for our opponents. It's a squad game. If we need speed he will put our quickest players in. If we need height he will put our biggest players in. The players will understand this.

This is interesting, because under the new coaching set-up he wouldn't have been allowed to get away with coasting (if indeed he was), and so would have been interesting to see if he ended up out the door in January.

Don't disagree, but have no idea what that has to do with my post. Were you supposed to reply to someone else?
