Great lead up play for our equaliser. Just seen it on sky!

Murphys distribution had got better aswell! Always looking for a counter attack!

Contrary to what the guy behind me thought as he was slating him after PNE's 2nd, blaming him (how I don't know as he was obviously wrong footed!).

Saying that he started on Woody after only 2 minutes!

Also wanted Robins to fuck of to Donny at 2-1 down! And Clarke was a waste of a buy and didnt think he should be here! Wasnt so critical after the full time whistle though.... (Tosser) :)

Did he slate him for shouting and moaning while the ball was slowly rolling in without trying to dive? Not sure he would have even got it but at least give it a go and get dirty!

He didnt need an excuse! I think even if it had been a wonder strike he'd have moaned! I know im not his number one fan but this season hes been an improved player. Wen we go up (thats positive ;) ), i think we'll need to replace to him.

I agree he could have got dirty making an effort but i think it was too near the post for him to consider even trying

Both Clarke's had one good moment in the game. Jordan's lay off for the equalizer was awesome and Leon got the winner, but other than that they were both terrible.

I was just getting my thoughts together and thinking how sluggish Leon Clarke looked and had a few chances laid on a plate from McSheffrey tonight - who was our best player by the way and Jordon Clarke who was found out of position way too often and lucky to get away with some strange defending. Then we won. Oh I'll just keep those comments to myself then. ;)

I thought Jordan Clarke played okay.

Some dodgy stuff here and there, but then made up for it with some intelligent play too.

These match threads do make me laugh. Winning and it's all warmth and sunshine ... then go behind and we're shit and awful and the world is a very dark and bleak place and then it's all back to joyful blissful happiness again.

Thing is, we were the better team all night long. Murphy didn't have a shot to save and though they dominated possession they did nothing with it. When you look back we had several very good chances.

We are best when we play counter attacking football and last night that was exactly what we did. Had this been an away game everyone would have been saying how well we played.

It's just that at home everyone expects us to press and dominate.

Let's face it, that has got us nowhere all year has it.

fqact is jordan clarke could be 30 and playing the same, the fans would still say "oh hes an cademy kid, give him time"

he didnt play very well, some good back headers and a one sublime assist but other than that nothing, he tried a 360 roulette trick in own box when he should ahve cleared it, he lost the ball everytime he tried to skin someone, his passes were intercepted regulary, hell even just before final whilstle he tried to take ona palyer and halfwayline and got beat,if the ball hadnt trickled out for a throw in they may have had 1 more chance on goal

can he have good games? yeh. but they are few and far inbetween

how long do we give him? 23 years old? 25?..................30?

A few points:

  1. I was happy Fleck got 90 minutes last night, he has a bit of quality about him and the match time will do him good
  2. Connor Thomas covered an enormous amount of ground when he came on and showed that he has a bit of class about him
  3. Is it just me or do we seem to concede more deflected goals than anybody else
  4. We struggled to support Leon at times until Moussa came on, we need to make sure that one of the midfield is running beyond him at times
  5. I have not been so exited at the end of a game for a long time

Do just one thing for me to realise you are biased against the lad. Watch the highlights and count how many times he beat a man. I assure you he didn't lose the ball everytime and that is why I don't rate your opinion on him

If it wasn't for that great touch at the end of the game we would be out. Not saying he never made any mistakes, but to me he did more good than bad. When we went forward he was involved more often than not. But if you are looking for the negatives all the time it is so easy to miss the positives.

I know who's opinion I trust, MR's... And I guess we'll see what Robins' opinion is when we're away to Carlisle, if he thought Clarke played badly, Christie will come in for him... Simple.

this is what angers me]

i am CLEARLY not looking for negatives am i,considering i have outlined the positive stuff he done

the fact you say more good than bad makes me think you are looking for any reason to give him a "pass" grade. why?

You and LJC say he was poor, he wasn't.

He, on the whole, played well, didn't get ripped, put in some good crosses, some good headers back to Murphy under pressure, tracked his winger well, putting in good tackles. However, he did have a couple of wobbly moments but didn't cost us.

I'm not though.

Had it been Christie instead if Clarke, who played exactly the same game, did the exact same things, your lot would be in Christie's arse.

Serious vendettas against Clarke. But MR will pick him v Carlisle which will put this argument to bed really, because MR knows better than you, as he doesn't hold petty vendettas.

Christie has played poor last 4 games he's played, and paid the price.

my lot in christies ass?

i lambasted christies performance vs shrews and predicted him being dropped by robins,i even made a thread about it

well done you have lost your argument and shown yourself to be a clarke fanboy

goodbye,thread done.

Wasnt particually impressed with Fleck. His passing wasnt up to scratch, but he wasnt awful. Clarke's finishing could have been better and the inclusion of Elliott was a bit late but i think overall we played really well. Murphy has a quiet afternoon and i think could have done a little better with the second goal, maybe trying to dive for it, but both goals took huge deflections so you cant nreally portion blame on the keeper. Overall, we dominated the attacking play. Preston must have had about 4 shots overall and me had loads. We should have scored about 6 gtiven the chnaces we had, but we won in spectacular style and we're still on the road to wembley and i cant see us running out of petrol just yet :D

When a player is supposedly shit it means they have cost us goals and not helped the team in any way. Our defence played well. Clarke was a part of this. We attacked well on the break. Clarke was a part of this. Yes he made a couple of mistakes. He also did good things in the game. If he hadn't done good things like cutting out dangerous crosses and breaking down attacks as well as not helping with the attacks and setting up our second goal which kept us in the game at the death I would agree with you and say he had a shit game. Not the best player on the pitch, but he certainly played his part.

The truth is both players have in general performed poorly this season. If we managed to sign a Blair Adams equivelant on the right I think there would be few complaints.
