We won by 3 clear goals, very attacking once again, 2 penalties converted, sounded like an excellent team performance (again).

Does this mean Thorn should get the job permanently?? I think so! Cant do much worse!!

Anyone remember us having 2 pens in a game, or atleast 2 that we scored?? I dont remember us having either (sure we must have though).

Well it was the first time this season that the opposition have had a player sent off.

We had 2 pens against Doncaster at home on boxing day 2009, Leon Best missed the first but Clinton Morrison scored the 2nd to win the game 1.0.

Andy seems an excellent motivator, i suspect though that as he scouted most of these players, they dare not under perform, as that would put into question his judgement of players. I do not think that he is the sort of chap that you would want to cross!!!

They are playing good football, they have no pressure so would be interesting to see how he could have kept them on song over christmas but i think we need to give him a go!!!

It shows something about the players running to him on Saturday to celebrate a goal...

Awesome win tonight guys!
8 goals in 10 games for king, he's living up to his name!

Wat do u guys think of going into administration on the last day of the season if we are clear of relegation by 10 points, to sort our finances out and hav a level playing field for the start of nxt season?

Got to give him & Harrison a go, last few weeks reminiscent of the season Black took over, though we all know what happened next. Got a fair amount on us finishing higher than Derby so good win tonight.

...without putting a dampener on things, I'm still rather worried by our defensive lapses. Westwood put the shine on our performance with his own clean sheet tbf. (At least it sounded that way)

The weird thing is, I went through all the match reports today on the os because I was thinking we haven't had any players sent off against us. I think it was down to me that!

I didnt know it was that recent (2009) re the penalties!! Shows what a short memory I have!!

Ive mentioned before that I think Thorn knows our players best positions, and thats why they are performing! He scouted them after all, and they must have been performing well for their old clubs when he watched em, so he is going to play them in that position!! Makes me wonder........WHere would Baker fit in long term in order for him to find his goal scoring abilities again?? Mr Thorn, over to you!!

Could we have the new Eric Black on our hands?? Thank god McGinnity is no longer chairman :D

Its looking good for thorn i must say, if we win saturday like we did tonight and he finishes the season strong then i think he should be made permenant.

That would show a lack of class.

You lose 10 next season, don't go there.

What are you going to be looking up on Saturday?? Last time we scored more than 5?? (or am i being greedy? probably should appreciate 3!)

Erm, think I may do now actually! For anyone that's interested, it's our biggest away win since 19th April 2008 - a week off 3 years! Coincidentally sw88 this was the 5-1 away win at Colchester and could very well be the last time we scored 5!!

Luton and Leeds tried going into admin once their fate was decided but were docked the following season. Luton went down again To League 2 and Leeds took a few years to come back.

Great result and I am really pleased.

I cannot judge the effect of Thorn to our style of play but if results are anything to go by it is obviously positive. I would like to go to the end of the season before giving him the permanent position - get through the honeymoon period and see. We still have Scunithorpe, Millwall, Norwich and Reading, it will be interesting to see how we go against teams that really have something to go for be it promotion, play-offs or avoiding relegation.

Perhaps I have seen too many 'false dawns' to get too excited about results of 5 matches.

Yes, there are rules against it. They'd simply carry it over to next season.

Thorn is superb. I said after the Burnley game that he was the new Eric Black. He'd get us top half even without King and Westwood-the players are playing to their potential now. Thoen commands tremendous respect, and is clearly a superb motivator.

I'd balance out what people say about it being easy when we have nothing to play for..we were still very much in a relegation battle, confidence was shattered after 1 win in 16, the off-the-pitch debacle was dominating. To turn us around to this extent against that backdrop, and in such a short space of time, is little short of a miracle.

I said it after Burnley, and every time I hear him interviewed I think the same: I haven't heard a City managaer speak such common sense since Snoz. I love the fact he sounds like he loves every minute of it, yet is pretty calm. Those attributes are clearly infectious. He's also brought some of that old Wimbledon Crazy Gang spirit to the club!

Although he has obviously done fantastically since he came into the manager job, i dont think we should commit to signing him for next season yet. Wait til the end of the season and if he is still doing well then give him the job!

Looks like it was another great interview for him and the players are still responding so you never know we may just have found our new guy. Doesn't come with the baggage of other managers but its widely respected. Winning combo?

Great win and not the result I expected. Well done to AT and the team. Same players different style shows one man (plus his assistant) can make a difference. There appears to be belief in what they are doing and a freedom to express themselves. Yes there are a few dodgy moments defensively but personally I would rather have that and the attacking play we now have than the turgid long ball of early season (was never convinced or a fan of that)

As far as administration goes the deadline for the points to affect this season was 24th March ...... before the Board upheaval. So any points deduction would come in next season. It might not be 10points either depending if there are other irregularities or not it could be more

But to be honest dont want to focus on that. It is good to see the feel good factor back at CCFC on the pitch and with the fans, for today at least what happens off the pitch happens. :D

There are two possible explanations for the upturn in form.

1. Andy Thorn is a fantastic manager and will do very well for us. Obviously I hope this is the correct explanation and we sign him up.:)

2. The players know they need to play well because SISU are looking to offload over the Summer and they want to impress other clubs.:(

With my heart I am saying it's #1. But my head is saying #2. What do you lot think?

I think you have just pissed on my bonfire, its worth a thought, however i think Thorn has them playing well because they have been restricted for so long with the hoofball that they love playing his style!!!

or that they are not under any pressure with the bottom 3 digging their graves further every week plus the players seem happier with Thorn

They love him, just look at the goal celebrations for the 2nd v Derby. Christ, we've just won 3-0 away to a team who were unbeaten in 6 at home (4 wins) and were in the Prem last season!! You can't really do much more than Thorn has so far. After the PNE game we could have got sucked downwards, but we've got better and better each game. That is tangiable progress.
