We have got 4 of the teams above us left including Swindon who are top. Swindon,Brentford,donny and Bournemouth so we could close the gap easily with these.

Swindon have Brentford, donny,shef utd, us and Yeovil they will lose a few points from those games.

Bournemouth have Sheffield,us,donny and tranmere so they will drop points

And so on you catch my drift all the teams above us have to play each other and as long as we beat them and keep the momentum going auto is still achievable. I think we can do this those teams above us will drop points. We just have to make sure we don't.

The 2 pts separating 1st and 6th is certainly advantageous to us, especially as those teams have to play each other on quite a few occasions meaning points WILL be dropped.

We need to concentrate on ourselves first and foremost though.

Auto I doubt it, the next 3 games will define the season, anything less than 7 points not sure we will even make the playoffs. However, this season has been brilliant, can't remember the last time I had so much to shout about, so no matter what happens we'll be better and stronger going forward.

The 2 point thing is slightly misleading as only 2nd place Bournemouh and 6th Tranmere have played 33 games.
And that's before considering brentford who have 4 more point than us and 2 games in hand.

theres a couple of reasons that I would be more inclined to say playoffs instead of autos:

We are basing it on current points - whats the situation going to be point wise when everyone has finally played the same amount of games? some of those teams above have 1 or 2 games in hand still, we could be talking an extra 6, 4, 3, 2, 1 points on to what we have to make up - at this stage of the season even that point counts for something.

another thing we have to consider about making the playoffs is the amount of teams we would have to over take to do it. we are in 8th so to get autos from here we are saying we are goign to have to be substantially better then six teams between now and the end of the season - thats a tough ask.

The point of saying 'alot of the teams have to play each other in the top six' is an interesting and valid one, but we only seem to look at it in a positive light. yes, it does mean teams in the top six will be dropping points - but it also means others will be picking points up lets not forget. which is what leads me to think yes we can overtake a couple of teams, but six teams is difficult to overtake.

for me Im thinking looking at who is above us, who do I look at as targets of teams we can overtake. Brentford arent in great form and we still have to play them at home, so theres one team we could overtake. Tranmere are another team in freefall and have played the same amount of games - I could see us taking them over too. From there upwards it gets tricky - not impossible, but tricky.

but hey that would be in the play offs and id damn sure take that right now!

yes they can! they have maths on their side but dont boast the squad we do,so we have more of a chance imo

Predicted 14th BEFORE the season started.

Then Shaw fooked things up.

Then Robins came in with us in the bottom 4.

Then Robins said everything was wrong, it was going to take time, he needed to change things around and the club had a losing mentality.

I therefore stuck with 14th.
