Who is Steve Porter (genuine question as haven't heard of him) - is he reliable?

Looks like a lad who used to drink in the Devon, known as Pieman. Although I ain't seen him in there for a few years.

Knew he was a Cov fan but don't know if he has any inside info. Sound enough lad though.

I guess it is irrelevant either way.
If he thinks a deal for CCFC is good he will shake on it

What do you think will then happen......

Definition of exaggerated to magnify beyond the limits of truth; overstate; represent disproportionately: to exaggerate the difficulties of a situation.

Suggests to me there is something going on but the guy on Twitter has just got the wrong end of the stick.

sounds like our Tim

Perhaps you should table this relevant and well thought out question and the next SBT forum.

Not sure of the connection to ccfcdale and the Trust, can you explain? I'm sure the Trust would like to distance themselves from comments like that.
Also I've actually been to a couple of meetings recently, and found that despite the differing views, everybody is Sky Blue through and through and also very friendly. Maybe you should come along to the next meeting, as far as I'm aware everybody is welcome?

Can't see a question in there myself. It's certainly an ill-thought out comment/insult again showing a substantial lack of real imagination or intellect.

It's a well-known phrase, first used by Mark Twain.

Who speaks like that? Seriously. A normal 'no mate im still hanging around' would have been sufficient

Funny really as your post below sums up your misunderstanding of the phrase and its origins beautifully.

I saw Pieman about 10 months ago, he was working at the BP Garage in Finham, not sure if he still works there, but I'm pretty sure he is no longer a active Sky Blue (does not attend games)

Apparently so. Someone else has mentioned this to me aswell (away from this forum).

So knowing how Mark Twain made the reference, would it suggest he has gone or not?

Im assuming not, but then again, Clarke Said he was going nowhere and an hour later he was talkin to the media about his resignation

It's a joke knocking the lack of intellect of ccfcdale.....:facepalm:

Grendel I have to say on the whole defending SISU thing. It must feel a bit like Hitler's last speech.

(Nb. No relation to nazi's etc.... Etc....)

No loss talks crap offends his potential partners and has almost taken pr talk to new levels!!

He may well be taking the fall for the terrible relationship with ACL/CCC. And trying to bring in someone new to try and rebuild them. Bit I do not think anything would change as will still work for our owners and it is their name that is mud in the City of Coventry.

Still don't get the connection with the Trust. Is he a well known member or are you implying that all members of the Trust are stupid too, hence he must be a member?

On a side note, if dale does have a "lack of intellect" is it fair to be humiliating him in public?

More like Neville Chamberlain after his little chat with Hitler in 38, don't worry we will be alright because Hitler said we will have peace. That worked out great too didn't it

For his dumb remark he deserves ridicule as in fact your yourself acknowledge when you said you would want to distance yourself from such a remark. In fact I would say his statement is more embarrassing to him than the reply.

We are on a football forum so therefore the construction of the joke has to have a reference so therefore the Trust was used because the irony is it is a question that would not be posed. If this was a political forum it would have been "Question Time" or the "Daily Politics Show".

God, why am I even bothering.....:facepalm:

I hope you are not inferring when Tim said no more sacking managers he was NOT sincere

Or when he said we are not talking about liquidation with CCFC that was because he was going to use the word insolvency a few weeks later.

Or when he apparently said

'Gentlemen we can put the past behind us and move forward'

He actually meant we are going to build a new stadium!

Just to clarify also I do not know Tim Fisher and as far as I am aware he, CJ and Don are not involved in a love triangle.

I don't know why you're bothering either...

I said 'I'm sure the Trust would like to distance themselves from such comments' which is why I asked if he was a well known member. It would seem to me that all you intended to do was associate the Trust with a rather silly remark.
By the way I'm not the Trust, just somebody who has been to a couple of meetings.

Just spoke to Tim. He says not to worry he's going nowhere.

I think this is Grendel satirising the fact that one person saying it on twitter is enough to start a "Fisher has gone!" frenzy. By being one person saying "just spoke to him, no he hasn't!" he is stating something that deserves as much credence as the twitter rumour.

Of course he hasn't really spoken to Tim. No more than a random geezer on twitter has the inside scoop on Fisher. But that seems to have gone over everyone's heads!

I dunno Grendel, sometimes I think I'm the only person here on your wavelength..
