I imagine that both he, Ranson and JE bought into the idea like we did.

I mean, the strategy was a good one until it changed and we began being asset-stripped.

if you didnt no wut sisu are then your a moron

How do we know they will request the money back if they haven't had an offer for the club, it's great you and others are feeding back the information from meetings like this, just have a feeling fans that have already been beaten into humiliation could finally see the last glimmer of hope going, and with it, it could be the club going as well!

This is true but it's probably more a case of what Dazzle said. Nobody seems to want to do business with them any more.

Agree. Meetings like tonight's are very important. We need as many people as possible to join the Trust; if only to show our solidarity and the potential the club has in terms of its fan base under new ownership.

Now, you won't believe this, but I'm sure people will come along and back me up who have been; but Gary Hoffman told us that he comes on this site because he's a fan and wants to hear people's views. He also said that Grendel, Torch, and LordSummerisle seem to make unfounded allegations against him.

(He's got a point there; and they are clearly arseholes).

Yes he did say he was shocked at some of their false allegations

Hoffman also said he'd had many offers to join the board down the years, but hadn't been able to because of his career. He knew nothing of SISU (minuscule in comparison to Barclay's counterparties so why would he), and was convinced by Ranson, who came across as someone who knew their stuff and had a plan.

We're all speculating here, so here goes my attempt....

I don't think even SISU are thick skinned enough to expect even a substantial chunk of their money back - money that has produced no return for the company it was put into.

I would guess that they would ask for more than any rational investor would pay, however my guess is that the trust issue would be the core of the problem. We've seen in this thread reports of how the previous bid was dealt with by them and we've seen the negotiating style adopted with ACL.

A deal of this type requires at least a minimal degree of trust on both sides and I don't think that it would be there.

However he also said we are all passionate about the club and if they could see what he and Joe were doing they would possibly have different views.

I can't disagree with any of that in fairness. Where the share is found to be will decide the club's future.

True, he did. I think certain posters simply refuse to trust ANYONE for fear of one day being wrong.

There's no reason not to support Hoffman's proposals. We need investment, and he loves the club as much as any of us.

Your first comment is bang on..... Also agree with your comment about money back to sisu.... It's a proper crazy situation and for the good of the club needs sorting, just hope the outcome is the club striving forward and does not drift into the oblivion

What I've taken from this is we need to ditch this 'wait and see' approach to the administrator, because SISU, via Avro (as the main creditor) have a lot more control over his progress than we thought; hence it taking so damn long to find the golden share.

My advice - join the trust, as before long they will surely demand answers from the administrator; and the more numbers behind the Trust, the more power they will have.

Torch

He basically said some people who go on skyblue talk
hide under false names and criticise him. As an example if false names he said yours Grendel and Lord.

I can't imagine he randomly picked that out if his head surely you have been critical in the past?

Comments such as Hoffman's a banker the bastard will wait till nothing is left before moving in.
He is a banker he is only in it to make money etc etc.

So, I presume your real name is Mr Dongonzales?

Yes, I have criticized them both in the past. However, I don't think I've said Hoffman is a "bastard". People have said that we'll be OK with Hoff and Elliot at the helm as they are City fans. Can't argue with that. However, I've pointed out that would be great if it was their money, but it won't be. I've also criticised JE for his association to past regimes. Criticism? Definitely. "False Allegations"? Not in my book. Why does he feel he shouldn't be questioned or criticised?

I hope they pull it off, I really do. I'll back them as they will be running CCFC and I always back the club.

Joe Elliott was only ever a vice-president and then an associate director and never party to the big decisions passed in the early 90s which had such a devestating effect on the football club. Became a full director and chairman during the tough time when sisu got involved. Elliott's businesses has pumped hundreds of thousands into the club, youth and reserves mainly.

Not at all. Just can't fathom why he's so bothered about criticism?

Nobody likes criticism. We all defend ourselves. Think he just wanted to show that he reads it.

He came across as very genuine. There's nothing to support yet, we just need to force the administrator to do what's best for the club - which he appears to be dragging his feet over.

Yep, he pointed out he sponsored the kit in the 85/86 season, and matched Granada Bingo's bid for 86/87. He also sponsored the youth team for many years along with other financial contributions. He's never had a penny out and has never been in a real position of power.

True - on the basis of a number of posts on this site over a long period, there are people who have no idea how corporate governance operates and so come out with rather silly sweeping statements.

If I was on the end of such comments would I be a bit peeved? Reckon so!
