Protest picnic (26 Viewers)

I gave you a couple of ideas via email for future protests, did you disregard them? It was a suggestion that not all protests should be focused on sisu and Ricoh events shouldn't be promoted

Forgot to say that I think this is an interesting way forward and moves us on from the cul-de-sac of the ac;/sisu blame game: "Kcic is calling for an Independent Inquiry into the causes of the problems facing CCFC and for all the parties and individuals involved to be called to account. There are a number of options for doing this, and for a public launch of the initiative, which are being considered. Details will be published shortly."

Hv been saying to ppl I read every message I receive but volume means sadly I can't reply to every one any more. Can you give me a clue as to who you are/what you were suggesting?
I appreciate you can't reply to all mate, it was just about non promotion of Ricoh events, and focusing a bit more attention on ACL, council etc

in years to come, sisu will be evaluated as an abysmal outfit,
who have strategically sought to destroy OUR CLUB to suit their own desire for profit from utter mis-management of Coventry City,
imho, that is,
what will never disappear, is the resentment caused & justifiably held toward their actions,
as far as public support is concerned, i reckon they'd be on a 5% level,
let's hear more from our elected parliamentarians concerning our plight,
& let's see & hear from JS & the F/L to justify their stances,
football for the fans ?
i think not,

Why can they bring cov back to cov never realised they had such an influence in the running of the club.

what action do you have in mind for acl and the council and, the big question, are you up for organising something?

keep the sky blue ribbons coming, all over the city,
i've spoken with many who have asked what is this all about,
when explained, they totally agree, as to the futility of the owners actions,
this is our club & not the tool of a 'hedge fund'
if in doubt, just 'google' - 'hedge fund'
imho, they are not, & have never been fit & proper owners,

Why don't the Club make an Effort for a change all this bollocks about everyone else doing this and that Sisu own the club they make any decision period.
At the end of the day these people have made me that mad that I don't really care about ACL or anyone else maybe I will just give up and not bother supporting them any more after 45 years of bullshit.

Then again NO I will hound them till their Gone or I am dead.

you don't think they could make more of an effort to get back around the table and talk?

I don't think anybody is saying the club shouldn't make an effort, just could some of the action be aimed at the other parties? Not completely stopping the action forward the club.

But it is the same people doing all the protesting, ribbon tying and such but others want us to divert our efforts but do not want to take part.

Can't do it all on our own last week we spent 2 hours tying ribbons around lockhurst lane grand turn out of 4 everyone makes excuses why they can't but are quick to suggest what can be done.

Never mind there is always tomorrow night getting good at tying knots

If there was more neutral stuff like the march then surely everybody could attend?

Is that a polite way of saying "If you want to protest against ACL or the council, do it yourself"?

Nick - 'the poor man's Clive Eakin' as my mate has started referring to him! lol

Maybe you need to do this as a sticky so it doesn't have to keep on being repeated.

I know exactly what I want from sisu (move back to Ricoh) and FL (overturn their decision). I've got a clear pr line and, with help from other people, have got the small scale events working well and ideas for themes/gimmicks for the next few. ~I've already got more than enough on my plate with this Sunday (and depending how it goes possibly 15 Sept and ongoing), London 11 and 25 Sept, and developing a plan for launch of Independent Inquiry initiative. So asking for ideas for what form an acl/council protest would take, the pr message, key theme, and whether people would help organise it, would strike most people as entirely reasonable!

So fans are now being laughed at for going to a Hill whilst most of you listen to BBC C&W to get your cov kicks? oh the Irony!

I'm struggling to decipher where this irony is. Are you suggesting we laugh at people listening on the radio?

I'll be at a protest tap dancing class with my ribbons in my hair. That'll teach Fisher.

Not hard to decipher if you think about it. So some people who have no intention at all to move off there arse, and support the team anyway they can, end up saying things like this
I have just seen this on the telegraph and couldn't stop laughing!!! What next a teddy bears picnic!!!

So attending the Hill is laughable?

It's more the picnic that's laughable I'd suggest. It's, in my opinion, completely cringeworthy and makes us look pathetic. A picnic for fuck sake. Striking fear into all. If I was available and was planning on going to the hill this weekend, calling it a protest picnic would definitely stop me from going.

Each to their own and all that though of course. Can I suggest some couscous dip. It really is a delight.

I think the point that many are trying to make is the very idea of tying pretty ribbons on signposts or staging a party/picnic in northants (which in itself, as a choice of venue, is rather contradictory) are just not "football fan" enough in their approach....

....I think the majority have made this clear......just look at the turn out to these types of events/protests......its usually in single figures.....this is nothing to do with a lack of passion from the majority.....surely its all to do with a lack of interest in the methods chosen.

I still don't get travelling to northants to protest about travelling to northants.??

I still don't get why, by now, there isn't a popular & coherent plan with regards the upcoming SKY game against Sheff Utd. Their have been several threads on here that have raised some great ideas over the weeks....but its now looking like the game will just pass off without incident/protest etc.

Surely, the trust should stop fiddling on the edges with protests that attract little or no attention and are attended by a few & focus all their combined energies on organise the next LARGE scale protest.....

I prefer liquid picnics, but I will be there because I want to get a glimpse of the team, with my son, whilst not entering 'that stadium'.
£5 return too, bargain.

I knew two teddy bear road workers once. They went into the woods and had their picks nicked.

Good point about the Sheff Utd game, their needs to be a plan for that game asap.

As a protest idea for KCIC etc thus protesting in Cov, what about a march from Highfield Road to the Ricoh Arena??? Basically a march all along the A444. Its a busy road to close for a period of time but would get publicity???
