Good point about the Sheff Utd game, their needs to be a plan for that game asap.
beduff - sheff u is definitely on.
Nick - 'the poor man's Clive Eakin' as my mate has started referring to him! lol
Maybe you need to do this as a sticky so it doesn't have to keep on being repeated.
I know exactly what I want from sisu (move back to Ricoh) and FL (overturn their decision). I've got a clear pr line and, with help from other people, have got the small scale events working well and ideas for themes/gimmicks for the next few. ~I've already got more than enough on my plate with this Sunday (and depending how it goes possibly 15 Sept and ongoing), London 11 and 25 Sept, and developing a plan for launch of Independent Inquiry initiative. So asking for ideas for what form an acl/council protest would take, the pr message, key theme, and whether people would help organise it, would strike most people as entirely reasonable!
Or a march from Ricoh to Sixfields via Highfield Road?
Lady Godiva's welcomed!
Sorry bud, I meant fans gathering to watch it somewhere. It was once mentioned on here to ask ACL to let us in The Ricoh to watch the game on Sky.
no worries - hv u reserved bus seats for sunday with me?Sorry bud, I meant fans gathering to watch it somewhere. It was once mentioned on here to ask ACL to let us in The Ricoh to watch the game on Sky.
If it was just asking if they would help is fair enough and I apologise if I took it the wrong way but it does just seem that if any suggestions are made that differ to the flow slightly then they are just brushed away (I am probably wrong, which I hope I am). People are calling out for neutral things like the March and hopefully something might be planned along these lines.
I do think encouraging a boycott of CCFC but then actively marketing ACL is a bit dodgy...

So, and yet again, what form should an acl/council protest take (esp given yesterday's view that it shldnt have anything to do with the ricoh), what's the specific aim, pr message, theme, and what part will you take in organising it?
Not hard to decipher if you think about it. So some people who have no intention at all to move off there arse, and support the team anyway they can, end up saying things like this
So attending the Hill is laughable?
You go and enjoy the hill, what are you bringing pork pies and a bottle of Tizer. I will now be inside watching the boys, hows that for getting off my arse.

Make sure you take your head out first before you sit down again could be nasty
now now, calm down little man. Enjoy the hill.
keep the sky blue ribbons coming, all over the city,
i've spoken with many who have asked what is this all about,
when explained, they totally agree, as to the futility of the owners actions,
this is our club & not the tool of a 'hedge fund'
if in doubt, just 'google' - 'hedge fund'
imho, they are not, & have never been fit & proper owners,
PUSB
All the ribbons have been removed over the last 48 hours.
The picnic on the Hill on Sunday is not a Trust event although we are keen to support anything that helps get our plight out into the media.
I will be presnt on the Hill on Sunday as I feel that we all need to do as much as possible to encourage communication between the parties, what it will actually achive is uncertain.
This weekend due to the Internationals the press will be looking for any news that is Sports related and some might say this is as close as we can get.
Just like if those who wish to go into Sixfields have the right to do so, those who want to support the team in any form from the hill have the right to make that choice. As for protests against ACL, Football League or CCC personally I cannot see how any of these will take any notice and unsure of what we need to say or how we say it.
By being on the hill its a statement to all the parties that we as fans, (the customers) do not agree with the decision and we will not just sit back and give up.
A picnic, a party, a protest, a sit in, its all the same thing and no harm trying to make it sound peacful and open to anyone, whats wrong with that?
I will be the first one to say that there has been some wrong decisions and choices from all parties. However, we need to move forward and look to the future looking on what happend in the past.

I have just seen this on the telegraph and couldn't stop laughing!!! What next a teddy bears picnic!!!

Ultimately it depends what the objective is. Is it to get the club ASAP back to the Ricoh? I would guess yes.
Is that more likely to be achieved by forcing the hand of the club. ACL or both? The trust supporting alternative events at ACL appears to me an own goal - all events should be boycotted so revenue becomes an issue for both sides.
The main event at the Ricoh was for the former players association this was laid on for free by the Ricoh and as all catering money goes to compass the money made by ACL was minimal possibly some from Parking?
So next time lets not support our former players even though they are supporting us and not attending at sixfields.
Yes Grendel another excellent idea from yourself so what do we do in between as these games are very rare?????:thinking about:
And before anyone say's "What you doing to protest" I am not travelling to Northampton for any reason or paying to see the lads in Northampton..
How is standing on a hill in Northampton with a sarnie and a bottle of pop going to encourage communication between ACL and SISU/Otium?
We will be seen and heard, questiins will be asked.
It'll achieve nothing.
How do you know that?
The Trust should be protesting to ALL parties involved in this sorry situation. Your blinkered approach has alienated you from SISU/Otium when the Trust should be doing all they can to encourage talks (we are doing so). Why do you think a protest against the ACL/FL/CCC would be pointless??
Ok, how do we do that, whats the message?
By being in the Stadium it's a statement we've not given up on our Football club. I've not sat back and given up.
Question? What would have a bigger reaction . A full Stadium or an empty stadium ?
I can assure I have not given up and will not do so till we are either back in Coventry or finished as a Coventry Club
Nothing wrong with it at all. To me it seems a little one sided and tbh a bit pointless.
Its not pointless, we need to show how feelings and emotions, one sided why is that?
But you're only protesting against SISU/Otium. A one sided Trust is no good to anyone.
You have highlighted the "Main Event" however did it slip your mind that the CCLFC has been highly promoted by the Sky Blue Trust? Which I am sure Grendel was highlighting..

same as most nothing... so by us all staying at home says we have given up and don't really care because the longer we do that the easier it becomes to not care.
Well said Steve unfortunately most people are happy to do nothing bar come on here and slag off everything that is tried.
If these posters have better ideas let them organise them and I for one will attend if they require help I'm sure this can be arranged for them.
Now lets hold on and wait for the same old replies.......
As I have already asked, how do we do protest against these other parties, can we stand in car park at Ricoh and ask them to pick up the phone to Tim Fisher, How do we protest to the Council when they are not the decision makers, The FL do not care and just keep saying its to boards discretion.
Oh one event so one sided it's unreal all 300 who turned up.
