One player leaving and we get money for.....:D

Im interested to know how much we get. If I was a betting man id put a bet on "undisclosed" :D

Gunnar is another player who has been mis advised by an agent IMO if he leaves! He knows he had it good here, was working well in Thorn's system, yet hes happy to up and leave.....to WALES???? Of all places!!

One season wonder, bigged up by Coleman too early, and this got to his head.

Cheerio old chap!!

Hope the door smacks his arse on the way out.

Totally overrated by his agent and himself.

Beggin yer pardon Moff

He may be being "Bigged up" by his agent, but arrogance, and conceipt is not something that can be used to describe Gunnarson, in fact just the opposite in my opinion, he just got on with the job, without histrionics or tantrums, and never shirked a tackle.
Why do all our departing players have to become the subject of having their efforts and worth, debased, The fact is we have lost or are losing, three players who gave value for their money, in Sky blue, lets recognise the fact and wish em well.
and the statement about westwood being easily replaced, and proven, is rubish, we will soon know what a good keeper he is, when our season Starts.

Tankie,

As you know I have known you a long time through our previous use of the CET forum, and i respect your views, but on this one i will agree to disagree.

I still think Gunnar and his agent overrate his abilities, and that a lot of the drivel his agent spouts comes from the player himself. It reminds me of Mifsud.

I am not one to sully every player that leaves. In the cae of Marlon, a great player who i would still like to have, but was dissapointed in the way he left, whilst Westwood I have nothing but good things to say about him, and wish him the best of luck. I am not one of the ones who said he would be easily replaced as I think the class that he repeatedly displayed wiill be very difficult to replace.

If only there were a few more like Tankie. Able to make a point in a decent and courteous way. He can debate in a fairminded way. And shows respect for all. Always enjoy what he has to say.
Gunner has been, in my eyes, disappointing after his first season. Now and then a surging run of old, but he is inconsistent and quite often isn't a commanding presence. and scores very few goals, misses a lot. But he's only very young. If the gap between what he wants is - £6,500 a week and what we're offering - allegedly £5,500 a week. I'd give it to him. But almost certainly too late.

The worry is that all three have left the club despite us offering new so called improved contracts and they still dont want to be at the club.
What happens next year when Cranie, Maca and Clingan are also at the end of their contracts. Will they want to stay ?.
If we keep losing our better players and dont have the money to replace them with similar quality or better the only way the club and team will go is down as the quality of the team will get nearer to the division below.

Come on Sisu we all know you have know money so cut your losses and let the Hoff save our club before its to late.
Other than Turner when was the last time this club managed to get a first team player to sign a new contract because I'm struggling to remember one.

I think you could be surprised as to who will be left this year without clubs. I read a similar comment from AT in the CT last night. People wil lstart to tighten their belts me thinks and peoples squads can only be so big before you run the risk of not playing on a regular basis. If King goes for more money, westwood does the same and you were the 3rd part of the big three then you would think hang on I am worth more. We as a club started this nonsense off by saying he was part of the big three....what about some of the other players? Are we really saying at our club that Gunner was that big and much bigger than some of the others...I think not.

I would be far sadder to lose either Crainie or Clingan.

Much better players, IMO.

Good luck to Gunnar though, I am sure he will prosper in a team that plays well, as we saw under AT for the last few games.

I also agree with some sentiments that one of the priorities this summer should be putting some of the money saved on wages towards extending Cranie, Clingan and Sheffers contracts. Plus any other starter whos final year it is ( not sure who, and it DOESNT include Eastwood)
