Fans fighting outside sixfields (8 Viewers)

The rift is deepening I think. Before the game today I overheard a couple of people (two women) who were abused in the pub at PV last week because they mentioned they were season ticket holders. That ain't right.

I'm always up for a drink, but if our beer-sozzled debate from the other night is anything to go by, it would be a long day :D

Remember the football league show when they were more focused on the 2 fans arguing and the fella having a go at the one going into the ground? It isn't right at all the same as it isn't right if fans come out and abuse those in the hill.

If it gets too far the club or police will have to step in I guess before it does get nasty.

There is, but the landlords are wankers so no one will be interested.

Nice to see a late entry for this month's "This Thread Is Over My Head So I Will Drag It Down To My Level Award", but you had had already won it - as you do every month.

This is the problem, it only takes the one to be represented as the majority.

FWIW, it's why bigger numbers at Sheff utd are a must, as with bigger numbers, less chance of the idiots sticking out among the sane(ish!)

Some admit they wouldn't, others say they don't watch the game.

Funny though as some hillgoers have a go at people causing divides with fans yet allow fools like today to associate.

So how were the majority on the hill to know what was going to happen at the end of the game? Are they mindreaders? The hill is a public area anybody can stand there

If there was something both sets of fans could focus on then it might achieve something.

Sounds good to me. I normally make a game last a weekend. I leave my house about 4am to get to Coventry in time to get on the coach. Then have a laugh with the natives when we get there. Always a good day. It would be easier to get points across face to face. I am not normally argumentative. It is so different trying to get points across on the net......then I forget what I am going on about :censored:

Shame that a few have ruined it.

Today wasn't great on the hill.
No singing, no drum or vuvuzela.

To add to that, a few numpties making us all look like scum.

Apologies to any who received abuse. The reason no one stepped in was as if we had said something it would have stirred things up on the hill.

It's not your fault, not your problem either. We really need to stop grouping people together in split levels though, as rather than Sixfields goers, hill goers, couch sitters... we're all city fans.

With the occasional mindless idiot tagging along.

I think the time has come for a mass protest that everyone can get behind - something like the march in the summer which brought everyone together.

No idea what that could be though.

As an aside, I saw a couple of people with red and green bar scarves today. I like that idea, although I know some people are dismissive of it. I would happily buy a job lot and shift them online at cost if I thought people would buy them.

What about the people organising the gathering? Was anything said to the people causing trouble? Fair play if something was said to them to tell them to wind their necks in.

Totally agree, I think all of the groups whether it be KCIC, NOPM, The Trust and whoever should come out and try to unite the fans rather than split them. Get something that everybody can agree on and get behind and bring the fans together.

Do some market research, see what people are willing to get behind.

You really have the wrong impression of the people who go on the hill Nick nobody organises it people just go why does everything need to be organised all the time in other words go if you want dont go if you dont want same as going into the ground.

I must have the wrong impression as I keep getting emails from somebody about it, somebody keeps posting on here about it and somebody is taking credit for saving the club because of it? I agree that why does everything have to be a "campaign" and given a "name" all of the time.

I think if it had just been "a few blokes on the hill watching the game for free because they don't want to give SISU money" it would be a lot better rather than the "campaigns"

As a active supporter of over 45 years I am sick of these views:

People on the hill are there for free view.

People who go into Sixfields are scabs.

No both are historically hardcore fans who have followed city through thick and thin.

They have been placed in a situation they have little influence on. None of them have the answers they just have opinions and gut feelings.

Remember we are all Sky Blue...we all just want to watch our team at home.

Sounds like a deal to me....as long as I can buy you 10. Then we could chat shite together :D

The weekends away watching my team is the only time I get to myself. I get my weekends and the wife goes out with her friends. We have only had 3 nights out together in about the last 15 years. Love it. That's what happens when you have lots of kids :)

If you do anything worthwhile and effective then you always alienate some people.

80% of regular attendees at the Ricoh last year appear to support nopm in some form. That's about as united as something like this will be.

SISU can be blamed for a lot, but people reacting to each other like that is not something they can be blamed for. They don't make people behave like morons - people are responsible for their own actions and should be bigger than this. Glamourise it by saying it's passion if you want, but I'm calling it what it is, fascist, moronic and a shit example to set to the next generation. These people are wrecking the club MORE than SISU.
I agree with most of your comments but how can the younger fans see it when most of them were just getting home from playing for their own sunday teams.
Sisu have given our younger fans a choice to make, watch or play .

I see what you are saying, and you'll never take everyone with you, but there certainly a lot of people like myself who would come on board with other forms of protest. I thought the march was excellent and sent out the right message, but I don't know how we can rival that. I'm not exactly full of ideas though.

I reckon most of them aren't even NOPM, they aren't doing it to starve SISU they just don't want to go.

We need to find something to get ALL fans involved.

Part of that's correct.

80% support NOPM.
40% of them probably don't care anymore.

I think if we get a repeat of todays antics at the sheff utd game, this could put any campaign in crisis. To have fights fighting each other on the tele will be tragic. I just hope the idiots who were starting this will just watch the game in the pub.

So which part of "most of them" is correct?

Anyway, this is just sad. Of course it's a few morons and they are responsible for their own actions, but I can't remember it ever happening before and there's always been beered up morons. Just another disgrace to add to the list really.

When can I have my club back?

Joy and her motley crew watch a game in a pub? Can't see that happening.

how about opening up the Ricoh,
have the game put out on radio over the P.A.

I wouldn't go, why would I want to give money to acl?

Much rather a local business of some sort who is losing out, that still excludes people who go to games?

You all keep going on about uniting fans well come on do it.

You like others have got no chance.

Why because we all feel that what we are doing is right.

I by the way couldn't make the hill this week but all I know is it takes two to tango.

But No it is all the fault of the wankers on the hill.

Why because all they want to do is watch the game for free don't care.

Such utter twaddle We have what we have and I am afraid the longer it goes on the worse it will get, these situations always do..

why ? one word Passion....

I reckon most of them aren't even NOPM, they aren't doing it to starve SISU they just don't want to go.

here's an idea for a protest.

at the Sheffield game there looks likely to be a big presence on the hill and possibly an equal presence in sixfields. at half time why don't the fans on the hill come down to the main entrance and the fans in sixfields come out to the main entrance, hand shakes and hugs all round then sing a few songs together, just before the 2nd half kicks back off the fans from sixfields go back in and the fans from the hill go back to the hill.

with the TV camera's there it should get some coverage, it shows we are in it together and we will not be divided. sticks 2 fingers up to everyone FL, Shitsu, ACL etc.

Okay, I know I am wasting my time here. 1 - first instance of any name calling was a car load of so - called 'City' fans who exited the stadium following Brentford's 2nd goal - driving past, hanging out of the windows shouting "Hill monkey w@nkers" at people on the Hill. This led to one or two people on the hill calling the next lot of 'loyal' fans exiting the stadium following 2nd goal scabs. A chap responded by shouting "Support the team you b@stards!" and then made his way past people on the Hill continuing with a tirade of foul mouthed abuse. He obviously got a verbal response and never in a million years was there any danger of anyone from the Hill getting physical with him. Next up came some short fellow with a gang of mates sniggering and laughing at people on the Hill. They got a lot of abuse, ie called scabs but no threats of violence. I think it was all of the posters from the GMK fanzine, about 6 of them.
So to sum up, the people who go inside the sixfields started it. Quite frankly, the people on the hill were very restrained and dignified. And fair play to the Brentford fans on the hill. Snidey comments have been taking place for weeks from people going into the stadium, perhaps it is the guilt complex or something?

Good call but would they leave their seats to come outside and besides the gates would be locked.
