Just deleted the posts referencing children, it may not have been in that context but it is late and didn't waste to risk that sort of thing

A thread full of Coventry City fans fighting each other whilst criticising Cov fans fighting each.

Some kind of visual Oxymoron

Les Reid is doing my head in on twitter this morning. What is his issue? He hears 1 side of the story and accuses Micahel who runs the KCIC/NOPM campaign of promoting bullying/trolling on his page! Absolutely ridiculous. Usually like reading his stuff but this morning he is just re-tweeting stuff that people are saying about people on the hill. Idiotic.

1 story says that people on the hill started it with the "scab" remark. Other story says people leaving the game early and driving past shouting obscenities started it. Who cares? 2 wrongs don't make a right. Both sides were at fault with this. This is just the reality of it now, people are split because of 2 sets of people who don't care about us have taken their argument too far. At the end of the day we need to stick together. Respect peoples decision whether it be hill, home, or game. None of this "scab" or "muppet".

Is Les Reid another arm of the current sisu "wer'e whiter than white ", campaign ?

Lea Reids meltdown has shown his true colours, of complete bias towards Sisu, his latest tweets show no balance whatsoever.
He should no longer be reporting on CCFC, he is part of the problem.
I suggest people contact Alun Thorne.

I suggest you get a life and stop the "world is against us " mentality that permeates your posts.

tbf Les Reid does seem to have gone slightly mad the past couple of days. Never got the 'SISU stooge' accusations popped up recently, they've seemed utterly ridiculous in the context (but do indeed fit with a mentality that says if you're not absolute black & white it confuses people!) but his twitter reaction isn't doing him any favours!

There definitely seems to be a narrative he wants to paint at the minute, very strange situation.

I guess when people question your integrity you'll snap at some point, but given his job is writing words, sure he can shoot them down more effectively than he is!

I think he's just reacting to the abuse he's got from people on Twitter and here. He has questioned both sides but the JS interview and his comments on that blog seem to have cemented people's views that he's a "SISU stooge".

Also, he's rightly questioning the KCiC/NoPM campaign, which he should do. As he rightly points out if you really want to keep Cov in Cov then you have to challenge all sides. Something that Michael doesn't want to do.

have you been reading the tweets? he's made multiple tweets calling for michael to resign. when he received much less harsh criticism than that and much more constructive criticism, he goes nuts.

Yes, I have read his tweets. Have you read some of the tweets and comments aimed at him and accusing him of being a SISU puppet or whatever. People who say he's one-sided should look at some of the comments from Michael too.

People have also tweeted to him that people on the Hill got abused by fans exiting the stadium and he hasn't mentioned that. As I said before, very strange situation.

You're getting confused. Questioning all sides isn't the same as defending one.

Says the man wino spends most of his life on here defending Sisu from all those nasty Coventry fans. Laughable.

yes I know he has had some abusive tweets which isn't right but he is supposed to be a professional and he has lost that lately, Especially as criticism of his "grillings" of Joy Seppala and Fisher in the past is fair when it's done constructively. Clearly he is in a hard position if he was going to properly ask the tough and necessary questions of her he just wouldn't have gotten the interview and so he did what he had to do for his paper but that doesn't change the fact that that criticism of that is fair.

Les is clearly targeting Michael and NOPM. He has selectively retweeted to blame them, ignoring anyone with different evidence or views.

Michael has always come across as a pleasant, reasonable guy on here to me.. He certainly doesn't deserve what Les Reid has been dishing out.. Which is aggressive and hypocritical.

Time for Les to get back to politics and forget the football.

I agree, Noggin. Nobody should be above criticism. However, there's a way to do it and those who state "you are a SISU stooge, You have an agenda against the Council", etc etc aren't going to help. Similarly, those who whine about transparency moan when he criticises NoPM, etc.

tbf, there are a couple of ill advised articles on the KCiC page hinting that Les has been offered a job by SISU in return for a sympathetic interview (ironic as it's anything but sympathetic in my view, but still...!) and I guess that'd raise your hackles.

As they're not exactly pro level standard on the satire though, not sure why he'd get quite so het up, or not just dismiss them a little more ruthlessly.

I don't want to start a slanging match with people anymore but I don't think you are quite getting this. How is he questioning all sides with regards to the "fighting" outside sixfields? How is he not defending one when all he re-tweets is people commenting about what people on the hill do?

Les has tweeted suggesting that Michael resign. I have not seen anything that Michael has tweeted back unless it has been deleted. Or is he commenting elsewhere? Please prove me wrong?

Les has lost his credentiality for me.

Completely agree he however doesn't handle it properly weather its constructive or not, he went off on me in the past for suggesting the grilling of fisher should have included questioning fishers responses even though the rest of my message said how much I appreciated his work and that he was the best local journalist.

He really doesn't get it that NOPM isn't an organisation, it just represents many ordinary fans view that Sisu have led us disastrously to Sixfields and won't give them any of their hard earned money.
NOPM is just 1000s of ordinary fans with an opinion. Les Reid should respect that as a Telegraph journalist.

He really seems to be losing the plot on twitter, think he might have to be careful. Didn't the former editor of the CT get the push for taking shots at people on there? If they start getting complaints he could be asked to explain some of his comments.

For the last couple of days he only seems to be responding / retweeting people who are praising him or are critical of NOPM / KCIC or the council. Doesn't seem a very balanced viewpoint which, given he seems to use his twitter for journalistic purposes rather than as a personal account (for example there's no note saying the views are his own not those of the CT like you see with some people in the public eye) I don't really feel he should be seen to be taking sides which is certainly how many will interpret it.

A lot of replies he's making are things like 'Michael's increasingly thuggish web campaign', 'NOPM campaign tactic of web abuse disgraceful', 'time for Michael to resign', ' Michael a concern among his colleagues', 'calls for 1-sided abusive Michael to resign', 'NOPM have abusively gone after journalists'. It's all very odd, he seems to have a real chip on his shoulder about Michael and the NOPM / KCIC campaigns. Not sure what has started this off, looking at Michaels twitter, facebook etc I can't see any abuse towards Les. There is a post on facebook where Michael isn't happy about the tone of an article but it seems a very reasoned post and not abusive in any way. Does anyone know what has actually started this off? I've tweeted Les several times asking him to post links to the alleged abuse so I can draw my own conclusions but those messages are ignored.

He doesn't really seem to get the distinction between NOPM and KCIC and talks about members of those organisations when there are no members!

Did make me chuckle that he has a go at Michael regarding moderation on the NOPM facebook page but when someone questions the CT comments section he says it very difficult to monitor people!

I've thought highly of the coverage Les has provided so far but I think he really needs to rise above this just get on with his job before he gives people reason to call his credibility into question.

surely in his job, comments good or bad are par for the course.get a life.

He is being very childish in his selective retweets, with little no concern of their accuracy as long as they just support his anti NOPM stance.

For instance those of us who have used the Telegraph forum for a while, know the trolling problem is basically down to 1 pro Sisu loony. The mods have banned him numerous times and he gets around it.
In fact the guy who tweeted Les about the CT forum sounded pretty much 100% like that loon!

Very disappointing. Michael has tried hard for the cause, doesn't deserve flack from someone in the media.

He's certainly not a bully.

What has happened to send les on a melt down?

no idea, would love to know and I've tweeted him several times asking for a link to what it is that he's upset about but no reply.

the only thing I can find is a post of the NOPM facebook page where Michael isn't happy with the way Les reported on the results of a trust meeting, this one here:

http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/news/coventry-news/campaigners-pressing-sky-blues-return-5922712

to be fair to Michael it does imply NOPM is being dropped in favour of KCIC but Michaels comments, correctly in my opinion, that NOPM is a tactic and KCIC is the campaign overall but if that post on facebook is what has set him off then it's a totally disproportionate response.

There's this too:

Sub A level satire ;) but I guess
If you ever tire of this abuse a warm communist welcome will await you here. I may not have long to live now but can ensure you are given a top job with the secret police. You have thouroughly interrogated me today with a very hard hitting series of questions. You could be an asset to the Soviet Union comrade!
might annoy you, as it implies you've taken a bribe.

There's also one from hitler.

Would you like a job with us Lesley? My colleague Joseph has a vacancy? You do know we are going to win this war do you not?

Notwithstanding the historical innacuracies ;) couple that with the snide comments about his awards, then suggesting he's along the lines of KGB, followed by Vichy and the likes of Darlan is, errm, low. Doesn't excuse his reaction, but it's not great.
