Are you saying they are not allowed to do this in a free market? Why can't you accept this as a valid form of protest?

Football fans have been drifting away from football as a whole for years, it's your head in the sand false loyalty stance that has allowed it to happen...people haven't read the market correctly.

If you feel that having no one attend Sixfields is the only way to "starve out" Sisu then the issue is how you persuade the 1500 who go there, not to go.

Unfortunately the minority who do go, actually appear to be enjoying going or at least making the best of a bad situation. There are also circa 500 season ticket holders already invested so not sure how they could be persuaded!

Therefore this approach is bound to failure - if you cant understand HOW or WHY people do attend sixfields (which the NOPMs cant) then how do you think you will be able to stop them? Now Im sure the numbers attending wil go up and down throughout the season depending on weather/team performance but those who are going have fought with their conscience pretty hard over this and will be even more loyal to the team - after all, SOMEONE has got to support them!

Much better to take a more pragmatic approach with the owners/ACL and keep the pressure up that way - looks like Les Reid/CWR are looking for valid spokespeople with a balanced approach who they can help get a foothold - again, that has to be a revitalised Trust doesnt it?

I would agree generally but there is going to come a time where even these fans will stop going which i think will be at the 1 season mark. If SISU continue to string fans along then i think people will stop attending. The fact that fans are not attending generally and SISU seem to be putting out offers etc looks like the stay away protest is working. It looks like they cannot sustain the 10-12% attendance figures but only time will tell on that front i guess.

The trust does need to taken the battle infron of SISU and demand answers. A leader is required....

Like most people I'm sure, Im impatient for a quick solution....and although I fully support any stance coming from the hill, and have no intention of setting foot inside sixfield unless to be part of an organised protest, it just seems to me that it doesn't pack enough of a punch. I'm not yet convinced that Sisu feel and real threat from any quarter, and who knows what their real financial situation is....we can only speculate that not going to Sixfields will force their hand. That's why I'd like to see a more 'in their face' approach, draw the media attention...I mean how amazing it would be if all those who turned out for the march, turned up at sixfields in numbers and made our protest visible inside or outside the staduim....at the end of the day, numbers will say we mean business.

Also laughable is your view on protesting. You're rigut about SISU of course but that's the whole idea of protest, isn't it? Would the Tories have backed down over the Poll Tax without protest?

There is no quick result with this situation i didn't really expect Sisu to start crumbling until the end of the season !!!!
So for them to be making talk of the Ricoh so soon is good news !!!

I put in many posts it was my preferred protest but I don't have the power or knowledge to organise something like that, whereas other people on here do. The mass exodus was not loved by enough so I chose the hill option instead. As I have said before, disappointed with the weather and numbers up there but not the atmosphere.

The only thing that will return us to the Ricoh is ACL and SISU, firstly talking to each other and secondly coming to an arrangement. All the protesting/boycotting in the world isn't going to make any difference. Might make us feel better and feel like we're doing something but it won't help. Only people can make it happen: Lucas and Seppala.

And apparently far more money than Joy was offering before for the freehold.

I agree and each to their own on that one. It is certainly a war of attrition with both sides wondering how long the other can stand out. I think like 'upthecity' said we dont know how badly poor attendances are hurting SISU, you have to assume that it is and hopefully that prevokes a positive reaction in relation to the Ricoh but i stil think they would rather than club burn that negotiate a rent deal with ACL. I hope i am wrong.

What's needed by all the so called 'protesters' is a complete re-think.

I'm fortunate that I'm able and can afford to attend Sixfields, yes it's a pain in terms of time and cost but I just want to support Steven Pressley and his exciting squad. Having said that I completely understand that many are for whatever reasons unable to get to Northampton but if you can, I'd urge you to attend as I'm enjoying my football and the style more than for the past 15 to 20 years!

Time to forget all the stupid politics and remember why we attended our first and then subsequent games whether that was at Highfield Road or The Ricoh!

I attended my first game at Highfield Road at the time we were only a short drive from the City and it was amazing to see all the people filling the stands/terraces and then watching the game. We kept going because Dad supported and wanted me to get the same enjoyment he did from the football. I can remember driving home back then listening to sports report on Radio 2 (on Medium Wave) in the dark, waiting to fill mum in with a match report. I'm not going to Sixfields because I work on weekends now but even if I had the freetime I still won't go and watch my team play home matches in another town. If you want to then go ahead but please don't expect me to join you.

On the contrary....we should attend as many away games as possible, demonstrating our support for our club/players/performances....let Sisu know what kind of support the team would have at the Ricoh, if they had the courage to climb down from their petty stance, enter negotiations, and let someone who knows about football get on with it!
