Hi there,
My name is Alex and I have just joined this site. It looks a good website and I'll hope to use it in the future.

However, I have been set an assignment to create a PR Campaign for our favourite sporting organisations. In my case, it is Coventry of course!

The campaign I've been thinking about is the idea to improve public relations with the club and fans by introducing a complimentary coach service from Coventry to Sixfields and back as a way of improving attendances. The coach currently costs £7.50.

The question is: Stay-away fans, if the club introduced a free coach service to Sixfields from Coventry and back, would you then attend the 'home' games?
Answers: Yes, No (and if you like, give a more detailed opinion on the idea).

I don't think the free coach service would make much difference now, maybe if they incorporated it back when it was announced they may have been able to persuade a few people extra.

Why don't you suggest that they put on a bus for the team to travel to play in Coventry. Much Cheaper for the club and a much lower carbon footprint

We are at Wolves on Saturday, not tomorrow.

Sorry but even if you actually paid me £5 for getting on the coach I still would not go into Sixfields.

i will start going "home" games again when we are back playing in Coventry.

Its a no from me, if there was no alternative stadium in Coventry then I would happily pay to go to Northampton but I am level headed of reasonable interlect and can't see of any reason why we are playing in Northants other than being a pawn in the SISU game, holding our club to hostage is a despicable tactic and could ultimately finish the club off.

In brief no.

As a serious response, I imagine that there will be some supporters who would like to get to games, but who simply can't afford the extra cost - this may well be attractive to them.

However, I believe that the majority of the missing fans are not attending because they don't believe that there was any sensible reason to move the club to Northampton (or some variation of that type of view) and so this move would be irrelevant to them.

I travel from the North East to the Ricoh quite often to watch Cov, but if SISU put a free car on for me from the North East, I would still not go to Northampton.

Thanks for taking time out to come here. But its not even a no from me.

Its a never! I wont watch them until we are back in Coventry.

And im spending my money on different things. Went to wembley tuesday in a mini bus full of cov fans to watch England. Ironically driving past Northampton.

We all loved it and but we all wont go to Northampton ever.

Hopefully they will get the point.

In fact, they could send a limousine to collect and return me, provide a match ticket, a 3-course meal beforehand, and a free bar at half time, and I still wouldn't bother.

Move back to the Ricoh and I'd have my season ticket again without hesitation.

Asking if its worth running a free coach because numbers are down is another own goal along with nine pound tickets , if the club cover the 7.50 coach ,then the ticket cost one pound fifty , its just madness

The point above about it being a "smaller carbon footprint" if the team got a bus to Civentry is an extremely sensible and responsible point!
After all we know that the buzzword "sustainability" is vogue at Ccfc at the moment but it should be consistent therefore,
Environmental sustainability is of extreme importance.
So NO.

I'll only go to watch us if we are back at the Ricoh. The way I feel at the moment is that even if SISU did build their own stadium somewhere else in the city I'd have to think about travelling to it. I certainly won't rush back when / if they come back to Cov.

so who is paying for this? I assume you have already contacted and cleared it with the club? Dont suppose they would be too happy if they didnt know about this first :thinking about:

Can I use the coach for free, and then go and stand on the hill? That would be lovely.

Joking aside, no. If your clients haven't got it, it's more than just the cost of travelling that stops me (and a few thousand others) from going to Northampton.

And to be honest, I'm not entirely sure this isn't all a wind up in any case... which PR agency did you say you were from again?

I guess its a hypothesis, a theory a fantasy view- to stimulate a response to run a thesis from... a little like the alternative stadium is a long tall story(apparently?)
