I am not the one for starting a thread based on unrealistic rumours and suspicsions however I have just been told by a reliable source that CCFC are to purchase the freehold on the Arena and that all the staff at the Arena have briefed, can anyone confirm this (who works there) or ask anyone who can?

I can also state that this is very very unlikely to be true - as others have stated the sale of the freehold would be subject to a council committee. If you've got any experience with public sector governance you'll know that any potential deal wouldn't be signed until the new year.

I suggest the Samaritans are called into Sky Blues Talk in the remote chance that this is true.

Imagine the pass out-pouring of grief that the club will be owning the Ground and the implications this may have for everyone's favourite management company

On my recent thread I can confirm that nobody responding was bothered who owns the stadium, they just want to be back there.

Your reaction would be funny if the council have the audacity to force sisu into paying market value.

This is standard business practise. This isn't true else it would be CET covering it now a thread on here.

yes i do,which takes place in the first week of the new year

all freehold issues resolved in the first week of a new year are they?

learn something new everyday

I'm not the one who said it'd be the New Year, that was Fernando. I'm not sure why Ann Lucas would specifically put Christmas into her "carefully thought out" speech if New Year is a minimum. And I'd assume she'd count as "someone who knows about local government finance".

Well ACL have just today gone into a 6 year partnership with an American Company who provide equipment
for events--conferences etc. That doesn't make me think a sale of the freehold is imminent.

Who's acl fc?

You do realise that ccfc won't actually own the ground don't you?

You do realise that the club still won't have any revenue streams?

you do realise that you cant say for sure sisu will do a runner or charge their own club extortionate rent don't you?

Not heard anything but the only thing I can think of IF they did do this is that they can somehow get ACL out, we know how good they are at breaking leases and little loopholes... How do we know they wouldn't take the freehold and find a way to get ACL out somehow?

If they get the Freehold, we are in even more crap than we are now.

Strange comment considering they would most likely sell the whole lot as as a whole package inside 6 months of acquiring it - well I would not be suprised anyway, as its one way of them having a return on their "investment"

Do you think we will play there for nothing under them?

Whats to stop them charging more than the council did?

What's to stop them remortgaging the place to the hilt leaving us in more shit*than ever just so they can get some of their failed investment back?

What's to stop them selling the club abd keeping the ground for themselves and then charging the new owners extortionate rent?

Would you be happy for an out of town hedge fund to own the arena even if they sold the club on?

These are all plausible scenarios. Im thinking long term and for our future generations of supporter's, where as the likes of you only care about your short term fix.

I want the club to own the ground. But not sisu.

Does history not teach certain people anything?

The whole lot us a package?

They want at least £60 million back.

Who in there right mind would pay that for a league 1 club even if it owns its own ground?

did you go to school?

if they own ccfc and they own the ricoh, any profit they get from charging rent will be a loss on the playing side of things!

it could be an issue if they sell club but refuse to sell stadium but who knows when/if that will happen, they may well sell it as a package.
