This is where the SISUE masterplan falls over. We will struggle to sign players for the club whilst at Sixfields as we evidenced by Andy Webster & Manset being the only permanent signings. We will continually lose any players of quality and eventually the manager if we are treading water in this division.

I'm not so sure he is happy, just because of an interveiw he did after a game (Oldham I think) where he was critical of the younger players stating that they need to grow up. I watched the Youtube version and he seemed quite frustrated and I got the impression then that he might be unsettled or maybe starting to think of a move away. Really hope that it was me looking at it wrong, would like to think that the fact he has settled would benefit us.

Dion didn't ask to leave. He had just signed another contract when his last one had ran out. He got sold when he didn't want to leave. Our chairman at the time got him to sign so he could cash in on him instead of Dion getting a much higher pay offer as there wouldn't have been a fee to pay for him. That is why he refused to play in the cup game which was the day before he left.
Players don't always get to stay at a club they are happy with. Just like players don't always get to leave clubs when they are unhappy.

Middlesboro didn't try and sign him until 2000. Richardson agreed a deal with Blackburn without Dion having a say. Dion refused to sign. This alerted other clubs that Richardson wanted to sell him. He did say at the time what was going on. But your hatred of Dion has always shown through your posts of him. He resigned for us when he didn't have to. He could have gone anywhere. But Richardson just wanted the money. It was only at a later date that we saw how much our club needed the money to stay afloat. The best dead Dion could get without uprooting his family was Villa. Richardson was unhappy as he got 1m less for him than he had already agreed with Blackburn. And I don't blame Dion for not playing in that cup game. Richardson treated him like shit and the deal was already signed. Why should he have shown loyalty to Richardson after what he did to him?
He could certainly have chosen a better club to move to from us, but we have to remember it was a forced move.
