This is a question, not a suggestion, so no abuse please ?

I see Nuneaton Town FC is up for sale -- just wondered what would happen if Byng or someone bought it and changed the name to say Coventry Bantams and moved them to the Ricoh. With a bit of investment they could be in Div 2 2015.16 season maybe even next season ?

Now way can this ever replace CCFC or Sky Blues but it would out SISU in a right old quandary !

The problem with me is that as time goes by CCFC becomes less of mine and more of Sisus. Playing in Northampton isolates me from the team.
I reckon I could relate to N Boro at the Ricoh as they push up the leagues. Particularly as I live in the Borough and a mile from the Ricoh.

No, no, no, no.

As our club is currently being screwed by its owners, the answer is not to go and screw somebody else's club up in return.

Its more of a concern than the Hinkley rumors that's for sure... would Sisu respond by buying Liberty Way and developing it.... lol

Respond to the exile of our club into another county by appropriating (or stealing) someone else's? Even worse to suggest that we do it to put pressure on our owners.

If that happened VOR, you really would see a protest. No way City fans would stand for that on any level. Think Nuneaton fans would be just as pissed off too.

If I was Nuneaton I would see this as a potential goldmine.
10,000 fans looking for football on a Saturday afternoon, with a little bit of marketing, a subtle name change it may be worth a punt.
With the Ricoh stadium up for grabs (AL) I would guess a lot of people are looking at their options.

So would you support 'Franchise Football'?

Total bollocks. No City fan will watch Nuneaton Town.

With all the whinging and venting you do, over SISU moving us temporarily to Northampton, how can you possibly advocate another local team moving out of its town, away from it’s fans just to annoy our owners?

Some of the ideas I read on here are just beyond belief.

I'm not saying it's right. I'm saying people will be looking at the empty stadium and looking at there business options.
Obviously they would consider the fans !!!!!!!!

So do you support franchise football? It's a fairly easy question to answer. Yes or No?

If as the OP suggested Nuneaton were 'stolen' from their home town, I for one wouldn't give them the time of day. I want MY team back in Coventry.

So you do support franchise football?

Is it franchise football if there is a market for your team in the new area and you are playing just outside your area?
Perhaps a subtle name change will make it more palatable in Coventry.

To be honest I'm loosing the will to live on this.

People support whatever they feel like on that day by the looks of it.

Yes having supported Cov since 1967 home and away I will be getting a NB season ticket
To be honest until it's back at the Ricoh I will listen to it on the radio when I can.

No

We all want our team back in Coventry but there is a huge risk that this will not happen.
At that point a decision needs to be made. The way I feel at the moment is that I will maintain interest from afar.

But people are quite happy to go and watch Covenrty in Northampton and even in a new ground in Bebuff??????

So is that franchise football to me yes.

So the fans that slag us off for going to MK and then Entering anywhere outside of COVENTRY for a home match are Quite frankly just that we already have 2000 who don't really care.

If Nuneaton fans backed a move to the Ricoh then I'd be OK with it but if they weren't in favour then this shouldn't even be considered. Not being locally in all honesty I would probably never go to see them play or have any interest in how they are doing above the level I do now which is limited to seeing their scores coming up and being pleased for them if they're doing well.

That's grossly unfair.

Sp if Coventry moved just outside their area you'd clearly have no problem with that either?

Where has he advocated it?

Like me he just sees how good a move it would be for some businessman.

He will no doubt have one liners thrown out him for the next year. Suggesting he was a one man campaign trying to turn Nuneaton into a franchise club.

Pathetic

I'd come round to it but the name should reflect both Coventry and Nuneaton. Maybe Coventry and Nuneaton Jaguar's (aim for a nice sponsorship deal). Frankly the league have stabbed the fans in the heart so we have no choice but to consider this.

So your not happy to see your team (CCFC) screwed and playing in northampton but more than happy to see someone else's team (Nuneaton town) be screwed and play in Cov........double standards if you ask me!

If its just outside the area I might consider it.
Exhall is okay as it's touching Coventry and half a mile from me. If its Rugby, Leamington, Solihull etc then no.
However my biggest gripe is the size of the stadium and the servicing of the huge debts from a limited fan base. It will finish us.
Also the acceptance by our owners that L1 level is okay.

IF Nuneaton moved into the Ricoh, then in theory CCC could not refuse PP in the city on the basis that there is a suitable stadium. Obv there is a million other things they could refuse PP for but in theory would a new anchor tenant at the Ricoh mean that a stadium in the city boundary would be a "possibility"?

If Nuneaton fans were up for it then I can't see a problem.
Moving to the Ricoh may be quite exciting for them, where as moving to Northampton is not.

The franchise football fans on this thread should aim higher.....

Why buy a shitty little team like Nuneaton.......persuade Dhinsa or Byng or Hoffman or PH4 or any of the other "hot air" merchants to buy Barcelona & put them in the ricoh.....

....for the hard of thinking, I'm being sarcastic, but this thread has put me in a bad mood.

Fucking idiots.

If you can find 70 acres inside the boundary.
