Banners & Chants at Sixfields (7 Viewers)

Personally I'd like to see those who go to Sixfields, taking advantage of the situation to demonstrate with chants and banners. I'm sure even they would rather see us back at the Ricoh, so instead of just accepting the round trip to Northampton as 'it is what it is'....they should be letting sisu know that even they are unhappy, to put it mildly. As a non-attendee I've made enough suggestions on here about protest ideas, and this is another one for Sixfielders to think about!

So why don't you go and protest instead of telling others what you want them to do?

Erm...may I suggest that you come along for a game and drum up some support. .

You are wasting your time.

We have seen the difference of Northampton attendees and those that would never go near the place. On the first forum for how this new ground will be the attendees were mainly nodding dogs. The one last night was the total opposite. And from this we found out they are looking at taking our club 6 miles outside Coventry as the crow flies it sounds like.

He has a very fair point to be fair Nick. There are those who refuse to go on principal. There are however people who do go and it is those he is suggesting who should do something.

You can't expect anyone who refuses to go to games on principal to suddenly start going just to protest. He is speaking of those who will be going whatever to do something to try and get the owners to change their minds. These fans are going anyway, but surely musn't be happy about our playing in Northampton. It is these he is targeting.

I see no problem whatsoever with the post.

Standupforcity, don't hold your breath mate. They constantly tell us they resent playing out of our city, yet do absolutely nothing about it.
Those 1,000 or so fans could make such a difference, but they don't.

What protests and banners have you taken into Sixfields?

Again...go back and check my previous posts for your answer...I'm not going to repeat myself. At the end of the day we are all looking for solutions to this fiasco, and challenging ideas doesn't exactly help, unless you personally feel under threat.

Sorry, I haven't seen them and do apologise if you have started one man campaign and have been taking banners into Sixfields and trying to start chants off.

Yet you start giving it the "they are killing the club" but then expect people to do as you suggest?

Why would I feel under threat about somebody trying to start a chant off?

If you want people to chant at Sixfields, then go and start it. If you want banners in there, then go and take some.

Wow you really are unbelievable, you choose to try and pick holes in someone who makes a valid point about Sixfields rather than make a comment on last nights forum and the complete farce it is turning out to be, do you ever wonder why people dig you out?

Thanks Otis...you've summed it up perfectly! :)

I haven't read any of the posts about last night's forum yet. Dig me out for what? I only asked what he has done?

Instead of knocking you do something?

Staying away is a protest. He's on about the nodding donkey's that have chosen to say it's okay to take the club to Northampton. If they really don't agree with my opinion on what they are doing by going it's time to stand up for themselves and say so.

If not they are exactly what I say they are.

And I'm not even suggesting they do it while the game is being played. There is plenty of opportunity to do it pre and post match and during half time.

The other point on this, is that you can be bound sure that if 4 or 5 thousand of us turned up with banners then a lot of the people who already attend Sixfields would accuse all of this negativity hurting the team.

Don't worry about it, Nick. It's just the latest stick to beat fellow fans with. Yesterday's was the "grudge" thread. Tomorrow they'll be another variation on the theme.

Yes everybody is exactly as they say you are, you are always right, you know everything.

I don't know who the fuck some people think they are sometimes.

You can suggest it. May I suggest that unless you are happy about the current status quo you let timmy know every time you are in his presence.

So if you are that unhappy why don't you let him know instead of trying to tell other people to do what you say and agree with you?

Despite the the massive goings on at our club, the impending new stadium and it being outside of the city, the first thread you choose to read is one about someone mentioning Sixfields protests and banners? I take you at your word then but I know what I would want to read first. If you only wanted to ask what he has done, why have most of your posts on this thread been laden with sarcasm? is that just because you see it as someone having a go at Sixfields attendees? becuase I thought his post was fine and didn't need any sarcasm. If it bothers you so much that you think he is telling others what to do, why are you doing the same by telling him to go and protest at Sixfields?

No, I don't think they would. I think you're just making excuses for the "4 or 5 thousand" with their banners. Rather than having a go at those that go in, the Trust should get those four or five thousand to stand on the hill. If they do it then me and my son will join then.

I suggest you read the post very carefully in future and think carefully before you reply...saves a lot of misunderstanding Nick!

I would as well.

That' a fair point Torch, but there are thousand upon thousand like me who refuse to travel to Northampton. My stance like many others is that if I am saying I won't travel 34 miles to watch a home game, then how on earth can I travel 34 miles to make a protest that I won't travel 34 miles?

Nick, me old China. It doesn't work like that. This is how it goes: Tony and others like him, sit behind their keyboards, they log onto here and tell us what we should do, think and say. Simple really. If we don't do it then they can hurl abuse at us and tell us that the situation is all our fault. Simple really.

So if you are that unhappy why don't you let him know instead of trying to tell other people to do what you say and agree with you?

Well, there you go then. You and others can just keep telling others what they should do, can't you?

I don't tell people what they should do. I have always said that people are free to choose. Think you are mixing me up with someone else Torch.

This is getting silly. All the OP is suggesting is that people who are going anyway maybe do something to let the owners know they aren't happy.

Don't think he's telling people what to do, he's just asking if they could do something.

So some would have a go at people standing on the hill to protest and take the piss out of them...........and then say they would join them if there was many more doing it? :thinking about:

Having just read Mark Lovick's letter in the telegraph about the planned demonstration at Arsenal how many others agree with him ?. He says why should his enjoyment will be spoiled by thrusting bits of paper in the air. Unbelieveable !
