As you said it's a "crime", regardless of how minor you believe it to be. He shouldn't have done and he knows he shouldn't have done it. If he hadn't have had a SISU OUT t-shirt on then this thread wouldn't even exist.

That's so true Torchomatic! I agree.

But where do you draw the line? If we're not going to accept sentences given by court for illegal activity shouldn't we apply that to everything?

My point is people are saying he deserves the ban as it's illegal. So if it's an illegal act leave it to the courts to decide the punishment.

I would say invading the pitch is far enough.

The view the club are taking is that the punishment is to leaniant..

Here's the weird thing; I actually think I'm objective and from my position you don't appear to be very objective. If you can prove that you're more objective than me I'll let Kant and Hegel know.

It's of course incredibly difficult to prove who is more objective than someone else, you can only point to situations where someone clearly isn't being objective. Which is incredably easy to do with the people I mentioned.

My position in this thread is that what he did was wrong and his punishment should be equivalent to other cases of similar severity of the same crime. I'm happy that is the most objective position on this matter. Peoples whose opinion that he broke the law and that the maximum punishment is fair even though it was on the very minor end of breaking this law are not being objective unless that is also their position with all crimes and of course it isn't.

Black and white: it's an offence to go on pitch.
Choice: Is there an alternative protest? Yes
Consequences: Possible banning Order
Responsibility: I chose to run on pitch, so I am prepared to take any shit coming my way.
Hang on a minute! Revert to black n white and choice!

Noggin's plenty objective. But you're having problems because your paradigm's misaligned, mate. If you nip down to Kwik-Fit they can pop it on the ramps and sort it out for you in twenty minutes, and they'll give you a discount on your next MOT. ;)

Talking of cars, Dr. Schrodinger's on his way to the match when he gets pulled over by traffic police for a routine stop and search.

"Sir.", says the policeman, "Do you know there's a dead cat in the boot of your car?".

The Doctor sighs and says, "Well there is now!".

(I think that's enough philosophy for one day). :)

Can't be arsed to read 23 pages but I know the person who ran on the pitch, he's a top man and he don't deserve this pathetic ban, he just wants his club HOME!!!

WTF is wrong with wanting us to be COVENTRY CITY again????

If it takes running onto a pitch to release the stress they've built up for us then so be it!!

We kept this club running for over 120 years with our money, they should at least remember that before throwing in our face what they've spent on keeping their failed business adventure alive!!

Schrödinger was a physicist, not a philosopher. And the cat would be simultaneously alive and dead, that's the point.

No he's not a top man he is an idiot. Also his tile hill skinhead pose brings into question anyone who defends him.

Never judge this man, he's the one who will give his seat up on the bus for the old lady, help some infirm person across the road.go to the shops and collect shopping for the needy .
1970/80 punk was in, rockers mods, teddy boys . It was music and we was young and followed the trends. So sterio type and persicute a picture from Tile Hill youth club ffs. Some people on here need to get a life.
Well done Muki for doing what you thought was right at the time, PUSB . A true and loyal supporter , a True Sky Blue

Not seen the picture, is it proper Nazi salutes? Not sure I remember seeing that in I <3 The 70s...

Looks like it to me. I'm not posting the picture as I've said before as I don't know what the rules for that on here are. But it's there to see.

To be fair, again like I've said before, I'm not saying he's anything, but the picture doesn't look good.

It's a hand in the air not a nazi salute, you was not there don't presume what you don't know. Have you never put your hand up to say Hi , here I am !!! Ffs . You really do need to get to grips

That's the beauty of a photograph, seeing something whilst not actually having to have been there.

But ok, I'd resist saying hello to people like that in the future then.

Schrödinger was a physicist, not a philosopher. And the cat would be simultaneously alive and dead, that's the point.

Boy, you're a ray of sunshine. I always pegged Schrodinger as a quantum physicist, which is quite close to philosophy in some places. And this particular conundrum definitely draws more towards metaphysics/epistemology than the physical science of testable hypotheses, and it's certainly of interest to some philosophers. So I think it's reasonable to claim it that way.

Regardless, for a chap who uses Kant (and possibly cant) to deride another's point of view, you're entirely missing the point of the joke - the cat's simultaneously dead and alive until the point the car boot is opened and it's observed. That's the point.

I guess you hadn't grasped that. As with all jokes, it never works if you have to explain it.

(As for objectivity, that's the point of letting the court decide on the ban - an objective decision by an impartial judge. Any decision by the club is likely to be more subjective, and it's understandable if on that basis some might question their motives. I think this was where Noggin came in...)

Fan goes onto pitch, he was protesting at SISU, the same peolple were all pissed at for the current situation we are in.
Ways and means, lets just piss off all the folks we want on our side FA/FL Government, Fkn hoolithug fans that CCFC lot, no rush to help them out.

The first guy runs on the pitch, club gets a slapped wrist and a warning, next guy does it threats of severe punishment, heavy fine a points deduction maybe, you know how they like taking them off us.
The club have to be seen as being pro active, no doubt they will be pulled up on it one way or another what more can they do, a lifetime ban (its not that yet) but could be for the next guy and a heavy fine and a few less points.

If you want me to take it down Nick let me know.

Also, like I said before, the bloke himself isn't doing it. But doesn't look good does it?

Ah, a bit like Father Ted the Nazi, perhaps...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9x70bndpc70

I'm not defending this guy, btw, he deserves what the court hands down imho. No more, no less.

I don't know him, so I can't comment on his political beliefs - but I'm from Tile Hill and used to have a skinhead* and I'm not in the BNP.

*Voluntary then, less so now. ;)

(Edit: I'm also not in that photo I'm glad to say. I don't think that should affect how we judge his actions at Arsenal, but I wouldn't want to have something like that on my timeline).

Anyway, DaleM, any chance you can take the picture out of your post for if I need to take it down please?

Nice one. Admittedly the 'synchronisation' is shite, but it's saluting, come on. I wouldn't be in a picture like that in a million years much less have it on my facebook.
It's perfectly open for anyone to see, and if this chap gets any national coverage it could be used.
Now I don't know about you, but I don't want shit like that associated with my club.

8 pages on mine, you can change the settings!

Some other pics on there, seems to point towards the "victimhood" aspect of right-wing views.

Hardly looking like the "gentle fan driven to run onto the pitch" in the last picture either.

Yep. Thought I'd leave the rest of them alone.

I've not really given an opinion on him actually going on the pitch. I said I'm glad he was banned because of the dodgy facebook stuff.
But the actual going on the pitch? No real issue with that. If I did it I'd expect the ban and wouldn't be crying to the Telegraph though.
What's done is done. It was a peaceful protest.
