Drink + Independent Inquiry petition + £1million questions (6 Viewers)

But the point is people who don't have knowledge about independent enquiries don't know that all parties wont be there? They go by the wording.

It isn't nit picking, it is pointing something out that could prevent people signing.

Oh well - it was worth a try. Don't sign it then.

Again, I was asking the poster a question who said people off GMK wont sign because they disagree.

Indeed, and I guess I was pointing out that that's a rather perverse approach to take - given that all the major stakeholders seem to be in favour of signing.

Would you not agree?

Exactly, simple and easy to do.

People could have been singing N Dubz, they were out in numbers.

But if you did not agree with SISU out you would not sing it.
The majority at that protest sang it.
So it is unlikely they even contemplated going or not going to the march over the SISU thing.

It was just it finally dawned that SISU were going to get away with their insane move and coming out to walk was easy to do.

Yes it's simple and easy to do. Takes all of two minutes. So why aren't the people of Coventry and Warwickshire doing it?

Sorry to be doom and gloom but I think people cant be bothered!

To click a link, put in details, go back to your email address click another link is far too much effort for some!

The ipad idea is a good one. Stand in the town somewhere and physically sign it for people. All they have to do is click the email link when they get home.

Ask them why they think it is anti sisu? Is it the wording? Explain to them ALL parties would be called.

But no, it is easier to say fuck them, they have a different opinion.

Do you not get it that ALL parties is not good enough for them?

ha and this is where the issue lies.

People need to know WHY they should sign it and WHY it will help rather than "if you don't then you don't care about CCFC coming back" etc.

If people are openly saying why they won't or haven't signed it then address it rather than "oh well don't sign it then" or "well what is your idea" or "where is your petition".

Well, they can't moan then if City stay in Northampton for five years, can they? Funny how they're "bothered" when there's a potential trip to Wembley.

I think you are wrong.

I think some (GMK) are so anti-council they wont stand for anything remotely anti-sisu. LIke I said, they would rather save face.

Wrong.

GMK really isn't pro-sisu. It's pro-CCFC. I'd say 90% of GMK have signed that petition. We want what best for the club but we are realistic about it. Spouting SISU Out, sisu this, sisu bastards, SISU, sisue, kick them out, leave our club etc etc will not move them on. Letting them marry the club with it's stadium might.

Have they said that? Have they said they won't sign because it isn't just the council or is that you saying it?

Based on comments I have personally recieved that is them saying it. But on here? Obviously me saying it.

Just for arguments sake I just tried to log on to GMK to ask this question to find my account has been blocked. Tried to register a new one and it wouldn't let me.

it would be a quick divorce, wake up sisu don't give a dam about the club.

Are you or are you not in favour of legislation to reform the governance of Football.

If you are happy with the way its managed by the FA and the FL then maybe you shouldn't sign, if you are not then you should sign.

And if you want a bit of background about the current state of affairs, read this http://centreforum.org/assets/pubs/its-all-in-the-game.pdf

Remind me was this done & dusted when SISU took over or still a possibility?

Yes that is right, it never came into the equation, when SISU took over the deal was done and they bought CCFC in full knowledge of the situation & should have accounted for it in their business plan.

Where did I mention Sisu???

I agree though that there due dilligance should have been better.

I'll message Knowl for you. It's not deliberate, it's a database fault. No reason for you to have been blocked unless you've consistantly entered your details incorrectly. So bin that conspiracy.

Was that being ironic? Surely you should asking "why arent you signing, what is stopping you?" but no. Just reel off the "well what are you doing" everytime somebody doesn't back pat and says something different.

The same as on here I guess. Boycotting home and going away. NoPM and all that. I thought that was what it was all about.

Very true. But moaning appears to be less effort and far more enjoyable for some. The arsenal game was always going to be the same case, but realistically the tickets near enough sold out before general sale so it wasnt "Billy 1 game" who turned up.

I think regardless of your personal opinion on the "blame" of our situation I think as many people should sign it as possible. However, it does need to be worded so it catches the imagination of as many people as possible. The "all parties" line works for me.

Of course I am, but then again I use a CCFC forum so know more than I really should about this sort of thing as a football fan. It should be targetted the people who don't, who don't use forums.

It is all well and good saying "are you not in favour of legislation to reform the governance of Football" but what does that mean to the normal city fan, break it down a bit, tell them why it might help us.

Find out why people won't sign, find out what they are confused about, find out what would put them off? Is it the time it takes? Is it because they dont think it will achieve anything? Is it because they think it is pointless?

Find out WHY people won't or havent signed it yet.

I didnt suggest it was. I tried to sign in ages ago and it said I hadnt clicked on the email link or something but I never recieved one. Tried to register a new account and that just gave me a blank screen so there is obviously something wrong.

All of the main protagonists have signed. he wording doesn't seem a major concern to them. The opportunity is there to get it all out in the open (as much as possible anyway). You have an issue with the wording, and seem happy to allow this to get in the way of what the whole process is about. Why don't you explain that to others rather than pick at those who are trying to do something. We don't live in a perfect world, so why not be a bit more pragmatic.

Hence why it was worded the way it was, to attract ALL football fans, not just Coventry fans.

Here we go. "Why dont you do this", "stop picking". "how many signatures has your petition got", "what have you done" etc etc.

I can't see where I have picked, just offered things that may get more signatures.

All of the main protagonists have of course signed, they couldn't not sign as it makes them look guilty with something to hide.

You make it sound like a piece of cake and that despite of all their incompetence, their management charges and exploitation of debt, despite Orange Ken, Northampton, the constant lies and bullshit about HR2 LEGOLAND, that people should roll over and give them everything they want because it will be better for CCFC. No-one has even convinced me that caving into them would either profit the club or get rid of the lecherous weasels anyway !

I can save you the trouble, only 1 person has said they won't sign it. The overall consensus was that it's a good, though perhaps impotent, idea. Similarly, the consensus about the Arsenal protest was that it went well and was pitched just right, it didn't solely put the blame one one party, which a lot one there think is the right approach.

Are we after signatures amoung a handful who think the wording is incorrect?

Or are we after signatures amoung all football fans who believe that the game is losing touch with fans using Coventry as an example?

I fully understand why you are being so defensive, hence the suggestion of trying to be a bit more pragmatic. Why not draft up some text of what you see being more appropriate wording and pm it to Michael.

Ashdown - Equally, no amount of shouting SISUE OUT or Joyless Septic has convinced me either.

It is likely they want their money back. What's the most likely situation for that to occur?

More shouting at them or giving them something to sell?

Also, i'd like to add here, that no-one thought they'd be mad enough to take us from Coventry to another town. I suppose in that vein, no-one thinks they'd be mad enough to build a new stadium?

Edgy didn't say anyone should roll over to suggest that should be the case wouldn't be fair. However that said CCFC should be combined for the Stadium that was purpose built for it and that we sacrificed our previous home for, the Ricoh Arena, how this is achieved at this particular moment I couldn't give two hoots about, but it needs to be fair for CCFC which previously it wasn't.

I think I put something in the first thread about the petition but didn't hear anything. Oh well. It wasn't the first time.
